Back, gets in on a double leg, but refs don’t give him 3, DT throws the brick
Spratley in control the whole match and gets a major. Good on his feet, good riding and gets his escape. Troy has Stevo in the finals from Iowa State. Jax a tech in the 2nd period. Just so fluid and gets a leg and then the takedown. He is the best wrestler in the Big 12 right now. He has the smaller Larkin in the finals. Vega does not quite get a takedown until the 3rd period( close on a couple) but gets an escape and a takedown in the 3rd period to win a decision over Tagg. Sergio pulls matches out in the clutch but not his best match. Casey is very slick on his feet and wins by major. He has Uni in the finals who upset Frost. Landon workman like with a major after 3 takedowns over Swenson of SDSU. He has the big match with the bigger Larkin in the finals. Landon had 1 takedown where he went this way and that way to get around Swenson and pulled off the takedown with great slickness and effort.

So did they make everyone leave the arena and go outside or just stand by the windows? ;_;

Ryder is a solid wrestler but he’s one dimensional. With him being hurt I can see nationals being pretty tough out for him. He will need strategy on not putting himself in harms way with that shoulder

Lockett comes out from the weather break and gets 2 takedowns for the major. The first was a fake 1 direction and then go to the other leg for a very slick takedown. Facundo wins with 2 takedowns and the first was a fake 1 leg and shoot on the other just like Lockett did. Ryder won a close decision in the consolations. Shoulder caused 1 injury time out. Merrill lost in overtime by giving up a takedown in the semi's. Also gave up an escape in the third period with 57 seconds of riding time which cost him the win in regulation. Lack of offense cost Merrill. Doucet won a close decision but wrestled poorly.

Disappointed for Merrill. If he could have held on for 3 more seconds of riding time, his match never would have gone to overtime and he would be in the finals. His opponent‘s coach did a great job of telling his wrestler to get the escape before Merrill had the 60 seconds of riding time.
