It’s not about exit velocity for me. It’s that DeCaro only allows one run if we field a ground ball.On the scoreboard it is…dont really care about analytics/exit velocity when you’re getting your *** whooped.

To expand.. going to another guy who hasn’t pitched in weeks.I did above. I also said it ***SEEMS*** that they are. But going to a deep bullpen arm to eat innings makes everyone think it’s time flush it and get out of the game as fast as possible.
I probably would gone to chewy with bases loaded and nobody out in the 3rd.Who would you have gone to? Just curious
It was 1-0 with the bases loaded with none gone in third, no?I mean, there’s a doubleheader tomorrow. No pitching staff that I’ve ever seen chases a five-run deficit in that scenario. You aren’t going to go to any of your best relievers in that spot and burn them for the weekend. This one is on Jason. We were spoiled every Friday night last year and I think we’re going to come back to reality a little bit now.
So your argument is that they left DeCaro in too long?It was 1-0 with the bases loaded with none gone in third, no?
I think you play the percentages given you have 18 innings tomorrow. You go to McDuffie and Marty and lose 6-4 and you are scrambling in the pen tomorrow.Would guess the coaching staff feels better about our chances offensively in the remaining games, hence conceding this against the lefty down early
pxp guy knows more ball than wayne does. truly adding nothing to this broadcastTruly need Wayne to stop saying exit velocity
I’m not arguing anything. I stated an opinion. You can disagree. So your argument is that they left DeCaro in too long?
I think it was ECU that attempted it against us.. May have been someone else but it happened this year. It’s an impossible situation to predict and I’ve never seen somebody actually do it, but we could have gotten another run last inning if Hynek ran through second base, beat the throw and just let them get him out afterwards. Wouldn’t have mattered in this game but I’ve always wanted to see somebody pull it off.
Colby..sorry for my unintentional tone. Likely my frustration with this egg (and Caleb’s freak injury ending our basketball season) coming out in how I typed. My position was that, at 5-0, you go to lesser established arms in the pen. Your post pointed to the 1-0 score and it seemed you were wanting a pitching change there. I agree they stayed with DeCaro, who really dint control much, a little too long. But I also admit that some of the contact in the 3rd was pretty light. I guess Jason had earned the chance to get out of that jam. He simply didn’t. And when it became 5-0 I think Forbes made the correct calls to the pen.I’m not arguing anything. I stated an opinion. You can disagree.
You’re good, yeah I thought we probably should have went to chewy against the LH lineup early.. but the dugout knows when a deep BP guy goes in there’s a bit of conceding going on. It is what it is, just want to see a little more fight from the guys.Colby..sorry for my unintentional tone.
