think our drop in RF defense has been more underrated than our CF defense. everybody knows about Vance and Kane (and honestly Hull's been probably as good as Kepley in center, defensively) - but Donofrio was basically another CF in right, and Bass led the ACC in defensive runs saved by an outfielder
Somebody did correct his quickness in getting rid of the ball. Some of his highlight throws were not good looking.
Granted I don’t know at what depth he was playing, but even a decent jump while playing normal depth that should be caught on the run with momentum moving towards third. He’s had some bad reads in the little time he’s played. It’s fixable, and if his ABs make up for it so be it.

Every single one of these runs have been self inflicted. Honestly, this is what Jason has been most of his career. If he doesn’t have control of all 4 pitches he’s not good. It’s that simple with him, but still it’s been mostly soft contact. But our offense has to be able to put pressure on the base paths.

Line drive to center is strong for contact there - Bloop in front of CF and over SS - UVA balls just finding grass

The approach at the plate is so off, no reason a LHH should be pulling anything off this guy.. unless it’s lifted.
Why isn’t UVA ranked? I know some of these hits have been flukey but they’re 10-1 with a bunch of solid dudes and a proven coach…

They’ve played no one and have very little pitching depth outside of this guy from Duke last year
Yikes. I knew it was bad, but I didn’t realize it was that bad. Hopefully he can bounce back next weekend. Just a really bad day for them. Too bad Zatkowski isn’t having one as well.
So this is only the first game but I don't want to see excuses if we lose this series. Would be awful
