They picked up my post on Todd golden. They want to make fun but now after reading the replies it’s evident we need to go and throw the kitchen sink at golden. Bringing him to Lexington would prove to cbb world that we are back. Read the responses by the Florida folks and tell me Golden isn’t the right guy.

Barney really tarnished our reputation. I wasn’t aware how bad but there is absolutely zero respect for our program. The gold standard and most consistent program in cbb history up until the last 5 years. That really blew a hole in our reputation. I can’t believe our fanbase is sitting on their hands and not demanding the ship be righted immediately. It’s time to regain our rightful place. Right now it’s 3-1 Florida this century in titles. Pope imo is a lame duck. Hes not the gold standard of coaches. He was a good player for us who needs to step aside. Todd golden is a better coach than Hurley. I don’t think golden is married to Florida yet. He didn’t endure years of building. But the window to go after him will close soon bc UNC or KU will go after him.

You go with pat Riley to offer the job and help to close the deal. No one will tell pat no!

Its humiliating and dude they’re not laughing at me. They are laughing at the notion that the winningest program of all time second in titles can’t land an up and comer who had a great run. That is the textbook coach that fits at UK. Cut their teeth somewhere else Cal Memphis pitino providence. They are laughing and bagging on our bb program that’s the entirety of everyone else who responded. For instance someone said we haven’t been relaxant since the Truman days. That crap needs to be fixed and fast. This lingering with a former player I mean he’s giving it all he can and can’t win. I mean I see coaches rarely work harder than pope. He doesn’t have it and UK bb is about to lose a generation of fans if they don’t fix things fast. No title in the next next 3-5 years it’s over the run will be over. Our place at the top of college basketball will be done. A big splash has to happen really quick or we’re gonna have fans with no expectations.

I’ve seen it from a lot of Florida fans through the last year on X and one of their forums, maybe swampgas or 24/7, that they believe he wants a blue blood or NBA. Someone posted one of the comments I don’t know which but it’s been said by the Florida side. And why wouldn’t He, nobody in Gainesville gives a crap who he is.

For some reason college basketball is apparently the only place where people not want fame, history, and better jobs. It’s hilarious. I didn’t read it, but I assume they’re laughing at the idea you think we can get Golden. We’ve heard all of this before with Calipari. Same nonsense.

Following Mark Pope and getting to coach UK? That’s a dream for these guys.

I’d say a very high chance he goes to the NBA. Other than a homegrown guy like Pope, that’s going to be a constant thing with any coach that’s elite. You take the headache if you have to.

If Golden doesn’t go to the NBA, he’ll end up at Kansas or UNC. But Kentucky will never hire him, imo. It’s hard for me to believe that the next AD won’t be a Barnhart lackey who won’t keep Pope around way too long.

But it’s starting to come to the point where most other fans and many UK fans themselves think that Kentucky isn’t capable of getting ANY elite coach. If we said we should go after Ozelberger or Lloyd they would say Kentucky fans are unrealistic. I’m sure if we said “Let’s get Will Wade” fans of opposing teams would say “Why would he leave NC State for the disaster that is Kentucky?”

And they might be right if the next AD is who we think it is. We’re a joke on the same level as Indiana and UCLA along with Nebraska football. People don’t realize how irrelevant we are. Fans of other programs don’t respect or fear Kentucky.

And to be honest, with the way Kentucky fans have settled for mediocrity, I don’t even respect Kentucky fans anymore. Tennessee and Texas A&M didn’t allow their ADs to hire mediocrity. We did and many of is fiercely defend a man making millions of for 10th place finishes in the SEC.

I try to treat y’all the way I would in person, so that means I’ll be sensitive to those things a little more than others. As far as don’t take things serious on here, the moment I just treat this as just message board slop rather than my fellow basketball friends, I’ll just leave and go elsewhere. That’s why you’ll rarely see me go for the jugular on someone — if I do, you can best bet they poked the bear.
