I'm hoping this is the bottom of the barrel. They have an opportunity to go 3-4 from here on out. Hopefully they can pull it off.

They really need to win on Sunday.

I would hope you’re right but it concerns me how many people are just counting most of these upcoming games as easy. Metrics only have us favored in two the rest of the way. We could blow one. We could also upset one. Two more wins seems safe. However if we lose to a bad big ten team on the road by a large margin we might drop below 169 at some point.

Penn State has played several ncaa big 10 schools down to the wire. Competiton eases but these schools also feel Rutgers is an opportunity to pick up a victory

Its not going to be like Michigan State sleepwalking or USC implosion. Evenly matched games where you hope RU can split with and then grab one of at Minn/Was

We're still 169. UMD still 161. It will be interesting to see how that changes after Sunday's game.

I watched the 2nd half of the Maryland-Iowa game. I give credit to UMD for having a good game, but Iowa's shots from the perimeter simply weren't going down. They had "one of those games" and UMD took full advantage.

After starting conference play 1-10, UMD has gotten off the mat and picked up Q1 and Q2 wins. Are they getting their act together just in time to come into the RAC, or will RU defend their home court against a team that is only marginally better?

alot of the dregs are playing each other alot late in the season and the Big 10 likely did it by design. Penn State beat Washington last night as well and get Oregon this weekend and 2 cracks at Rutgers. Sometimes the heady performances that bad teams show against superior teams is not duplicated when meeting teams of their own level. Rutgers 2 wins were both overtime struggles and I am bit concerned that they do not or ARE NOT capable of putting teams away and thus every game is a dogfight to the end. On the flip side, Maryland is likely to suffer the proverbial let down going on the road after notching a big upset

Another example of a similar team doing what we couldn’t. RU at Iowa was within our grasp, down only 2 points with less than a minute to go. Then we couldn’t finish off MSU at our place the way MN did by 3 points.

Yes, I know we struggled in our 2 B1G wins, but well-coached teams find a way to overachieve and beat Iowa and MSU and not lose to CCSU.

Had we gotten those 3 wins, we’d be looking at possibly finishing with a .500 record and getting some type of postseason invite.

Yes I know, if my grandmother had wheels, yada yada…

Rutgers shoots up to #155 but that still leaves them behind Maryland now at #151. However Rutgers is no longer the worst rated power 5 as that distinction goes to Georgia Tech at #165. Note Boston College is at #152

Rutgers sos which was at 15 coming into the Maryland game only slipped to 18. The non conference sos is 248.

RU is 0-11 vs Quad 1, 0-3 vs Quad 2, 4-0 in Quad 3, and 6-1 in Quad 4. Rutgers is 0-11 vs schools currently projected into the field

Just took a quick scan of the NET rankings, and noticed this wacky thing:

East Tennessee State is ahead of us, with a 129 NET. They have played 19(!) Quad 4 games and have lost 5(!) of them. Their other 3 wins are in Quad 3, with no wins in Quad 1 or 2, same as us.

That's an interesting observation. No good wins and 5 bad losses. Seems like their resume exposes flaws in the NET system for that resume to be anywhere above 200.

I was checking out Central Connecticut State's NET. They are pretty bad but they have these two glaring wins over BC and Rutgers. They single handedly buried both programs' NET ranking.

yep. The Central Connecticut State performance...not so much the loss drives the bad ranking. Rutgers lost this game by 13. The efficiency numbers offensively must have been brutal from the game. Throw in additional poor efficiency games vs Penn, Delaware State, American, Lehigh, Merrimack and that is a lead anchor on your metrics.

omg are you in my computer..literally same time
Yesterday, I emailed a vendor that was 3 days late in getting a license to me. One second after I pressed send, I got the email with the license. It's crazy how minutes/hours/days can go by and yet so frequently this happens to me.

Next Opponent UW - 56

UW has lost to PSU and UMD. On the flip side, they've beaten USC, OSU, and Minnesota. An erratic team that hopefully will be a little weary from being on the road in a different time zone for 6 days.

Any chance of finishing in the top 150 went out the window last night. At least we won't be below 200.

I wonder if any teams will get at-large bids with NETs worse than UW. I'm guessing there will be one or two.

right now Missouri who is at 57, 9-9 in Q1/2, 9-6 vs the field is an oddity for the net

also USC at 63 last in or last out according to many
