The good news of course is that takes points away from Ohio State and Davino also at Nationals. But, busted out Ayala or not, that **** was a statement. Oddly, I feel like the only guy who actually CAN Keep it close against him is Blaze.

I’m relatively new at this, so bear with me. Forrest is from Johnstown, PA. Did PSU recruit him hard? I would guess so given his resume.
Everyone recruited him. At the same time, our freshman at 133 was the previous class’s top recruit (Duke and Blaze were 1-2) and I think our guy is even 2-1 against him across all styles. Someone will correct me if I am mistaken.

I don't see anyone beating that kid. Best case scenario is for Marcus on the other side.
He barely escaped just last week against another freshman. He’s absolutely beatable. This was an absolutely incredible performance and Jax is talented enough to win it all but I still think he’s behind Blaze, Davino and maybe Byrd. Blaze matches up extremely well against him

That was impressive. He's certainly way stronger than he looks. I'm going to assume he's super flexible, in the mold of Brock Hardy, but turning against the knee joint always makes me nervous.

I will say this. Iowa’s program is a mess right now. Every season they regress as the season goes on. I am shocked at Ayala. Not just getting TF’ed, but I believe he’s lost 7 or 8 matches this year. He was a finalist the last 2 years and a favorite to win it all this year. Is he hurt, disinterested or has the Iowa program destroyed him. I don’t see Drake as a guy not working hard or disinterested. Just shocked how far he’s dropped. He might not even AA this year. Wow!

Forrest is from North Carolina, IIRC. But, yes, went to high school at Bishop McCort in Johnstown PA. Pretty sure most every big time college wrestling program (including PSU) recruited Forrest, but Okie State always seemed to have the inside track.

Unless you can match Forrest's scrambling ability and also have a solid offense, I think Marcus' style is a style that can slow down and beat Forrest. It definitely has a Taylor (Forrest) vs. Dake (Marcus) feel to it.

It helped that Okie State hired PSU great David Taylor as their new HC. Taylor had a prior relationship with Forrest as a highschooler via his training gym at the time in PA.
