Just about anywhere would be a cooler venue than Indianapolis.
ChiTown- what’s the buzz in Chicago about this plan so far? Is there enough there to win over the locals?
You know how much ball players make, where they vacation, their houses and condos, the locker rooms weren’t fit for their house staff. Completely blew my mind. If Chicago weather was more like DE, we’d still be there, fantastic cityGrew up in the North of the City so a Cubs fan but went to the old Comisky a few times - had to dodge the Rats along the concourses - what an f'ing dump in a shi$$ty area which it still mostly is.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they started rotating it here in a few years. Big Ten has thought about both Vegas and LA since the West Coast schools were announced to be joining.Did you notice the snuck in the Big10 Championship logo in the end zone during the video - Would be a cooler venue than Indy.
Lol, the B1G championship in Vegas? Ten years, no more than that.I wouldn’t be surprised if they started rotating it here in a few years. Big Ten has thought about both Vegas and LA since the West Coast schools were announced to be joining.

Can you believe the Bears still owe $600 million on the previous update. Almost sounds like the deal at Cal.
I’ve heard the same.
I think in part it is to sell it to the non-sports people. And to say/show this space has daily uses, not just on football Sunday. Anyone up for a manicure to match the starting qb ?Whatever happened to going to a football stadium just to watch a football game?
Deftly crafted.I think in part it is to sell it to the non-sports people. And to say/show this space has daily uses, not just on football Sunday. Anyone up for a manicure to match the starting qb ?
Cook County is (and has been) a disaster. I'm not surprised they can't get a deal done.
Chicago is a fabulous city. One of my favorites to visit for the reasons you mention. Was just there post-Thanksgiving and just love Chicago - amazing architecture, clean public spaces downtown (stayed off Michigan Ave. near the lake), great shops, outstanding restaurants (both high end and casual variety) and almost zero scaffolding (compared to NYC). I can't imagine Chicago without the Bears playing downtown. That said, there were probably 250 cops in about a six block radius the whole time.
I love Chicago. The Art Institute, best museum in the United States, the pearl of an unreal Museum Row. Great place to take kids.Chicago is a fabulous city. One of my favorites to visit for the reasons you mention.
Big sports are tough. Count me in the camp that believes there’s questionable ROI long term for using public funds for stadium projects.
So true.Whatever happened to going to a football stadium just to watch a football game?

All my advisors (masters and PhD) were from the University of Chicago. Chicago was (is? Not sure if it’s still true) the epicenter of American algebra. All this, and MATHS..

I’m a big fan of Chicago for the reasons that you mentioned. New York City is a toilet by comparison.
You say that like it's a good thing. All my advisors (masters and PhD) were from the University of Chicago. Chicago was (is? Not sure if it’s still true) the epicenter of American algebra.
I know you’re just joking and I actually laughed but I do have great math genes. The teachers of my teachers, some really great names there, some real phenomenal mathematicians. Oh my lord, they could be fast. You say that like it's a good thing.![]()

Hi from Glencoe!I grew up in the Northern "Burbs of Chicago in Northbrook - Chicago was and still mostly is a great town. As noted Museums are great, Art, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry as well as Adler Planetarium but like Philly getting to the downtown from outside can be a challenge so a stadium in Arlington makes sense especially after they ruined the old Soldier Field. Some areas of the downtown have gotten a little more sketchy but overall mostly safe. The Ricketts family has tried to ruin the Cubs but Wrigley is still Wrigley. Bears are trying to hold up Arlington and Cook County for a bigger tax break - it's interesting out there that Cook County covers a huge area including many of the Suburbs around Chicago as well as the City unlike Philly which is just Philly County.
I used to ride my bicycle through Glencoe to go to the beach - nice are and town.Hi from Glencoe!
I married an accountant. But I do our taxes.I love accountants, engineers, mathematicians, etc. The more numbers that you folks crunch, the less I have to. Three of my best friends since middle school are accountants. Lived with two of them during college. I enjoyed never having to figure out my portion of a bill, gas money, bar tab, etc.
May need another update @ChiTownLionPSU . If this happens they should have to rename the team. Hope residents of Indiana vote their clown governor out too.
