It didn't seem ominous when they were getting run out of the gym by USC and UCLA?Unfortunately, it looks like JJ can't go any deeper than a six player rotation in a close game.
THAT McCabe injury didn't seem as ominus then as it does now.

You can't be this stupid??If Deal cant make that wide open 3, there shouldn't be any playing time.
If performance matters, then yah, she has it locked down. Deal has had a couple good moments/games, but not lately. It's not even close. Stremlow is better in every phase of the game, and by a lot. She's earned it.looks like Stremelow has won the starting job
They blew the whistle, but was it actually a foul? I'm not so sure. One second on shot clock and KF fouls.
Brain dead shiit!!!
She definitely is.Stremlow is awesome
Exactly what my wife said. What would they do if they were only down 12? LOLNebby bench doing a dance down 18??
Deal could make a big leap next season. But for now, her minutes need to be limited.Levin stealing Deal minutes. She gone.
In no way is Stremlow a post player. She is a very creative guard with excellent passing skills. She is when she's playing teams with similar size. She is by far the most athletic five Iowa's had in recent years.
You're right. I was talking about Heiden. Sorry for the confusion. In no way is Stremlow a post player. She is a very creative guard with excellent passing skills.
You need new equipment! Not trolling, but I am using both eyes to evaluate.
Dude just stopOne second on shot clock and KF fouls.
Brain dead shiit!!!
Did you ***** when Caitlin had multiple games of 7 or 8 turnovers yet put up 35,12 and 10?You watching the game???
You wouldn't say that if you were.
And KF still chucking 3s up...up to six misses in a row now.
Likely.Did you ***** when Caitlin had multiple games of 7 or 8 turnovers yet put up 35,12 and 10?
I 100% agree with you about Heiden. Very advanced post moves for a young player. You're right. I was talking about Heiden. Sorry for the confusion.
I think she'll be much better next year. Outside of a couple of games in which she showed her potential, she's played like an overmatched freshman like a lot of first year players.Really low basketball IQ.
Deal can't be counted on in a close game.
Not sure what her strengths are?
So you watched the game and thought she didn't play well and then looked at the box score and thought she did? Lol. She was very good today.Houston didn't have that great of a game. IMO
Edit: after seeing her stats I guess I was wrong.
Yes, you were. With that said she's had much better games. That's how good she's been. That steal and fast break basket with CCW was a thing of beauty.Houston didn't have that great of a game. IMO
Edit: after seeing her stats I guess I was wrong.
You really comparing CC to KF????Did you ***** when Caitlin had multiple games of 7 or 8 turnovers yet put up 35,12 and 10?
I have the opposite take. Shooting 3's against 3 defenders with no rebound opportunity on a fast break is a freshman mistake. She simply can't take that shot. She has to learn that these things hurt the team along with dribbling directly into traffic. She has talent, but she's not playing well and making bad decisions. The game is moving too fast for her again. She needs to let the game come to her instead of forcing things. Hopefully she figures it out so she can contribute going forward. She needs to work her shot out and competition is probably the best way to do it. I would not doubt one that Jan and staff are actively encouraging her to take shots in this situation. They get it on film and maybe figure it out then.
Everyone in that gym today knew this was not a close game. It was supposed to be but it wasn’t.
Hard to believe that ANON 5978 can drop so many idiotic posts in one thread. One gem after the other. That's not happening. Her parents moved to Iowa. She just needs to keep working. She was named freshman of the week twice. Struggles on the road, will develop the mental toughness.
She had a few decent games, but over all, given the hype, has been very underwhelming.Don't hear anything from the Deal needs to play more crowd.. not hating on her but she is not ready for prime time.
Take the rest of the day offShe had a few decent games, but over all, given the hype, has been very underwhelming.
And is regressing bigly.
Getting a "5" in the portal is becoming increasingly necessary.
This. Hopefully Layla makes good strides, and I think she will. I doubt they'll get anyone to come in and caddie for Ava. Another 3/4 and a quality combo guard would be the ticket....It's going be tough to find a quality Center willing to come off the bench for the next 2 years
I also wonder why such a dour individual subjects themselves to such perpetual agony by following literally ANY amateur athletic team full of young people.Hard to believe that ANON 5978 can drop so many idiotic posts in one thread. One gem after the other.
Oughta check that dude out on the off topic board. Pisss and moan and moan and pisss.I also wonder why such a dour individual subjects themselves to such perpetual agony by following literally ANY amateur athletic team full of young people.
Every comment is a putdown or criticism. Maybe find a new hobby, but please quit polluting things up for the rest of us.
If she doesn't feel the love she is gonna hit the portal, she can get some significant coin on the open market.Deal could make a big leap next season. But for now, her minutes need to be limited.
She won't transfer. If she doesn't feel the love she is gonna hit the portal, she can get some significant coin on the open market.
Then we recruit someone else.If she doesn't feel the love she is gonna hit the portal, she can get some significant coin on the open market.
Recruiting highly rated players and then losing them to the portal is not a recipe for success. Then we recruit someone else.
I wish I had your attitude. Seems like the older I get the grumpier I get. You are definitely an optimist. Hats off to youI joined the forum as I lover the Hawkeyes ladies program, and now the men with Ben, and also because I really like to know what’s going on with recruiting. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the postings but I’m amazed at how many apparently negative and unhappy people “support” the program. We had a good win today and we see more complaining than we do positives. We had a great first half and for real basketball followers it was pretty certain Nebraska would make a run. Basketball is a game of runs. They did and “over her head” Jan made the move of the game calling a time out that drastically changed the momentum back in the Hawkeyes favor. My belief is in celebrating, not trashing coaches and players after the fact. I always remind my self “basketball is not a game of perfect”. I love our team, warts and all.
