Painter runs some of the best sets in the country, plus they have better players.about that defense Ben is known for....
Looks like Fran's 3pt D. ****
If guys make wide open 3's in the first half, this could have been a different game possibly.Painters whole game plan is to shut down Stirtz , BM should have game planned accordingly
The effort just isn’t there. When it is we’re in foul trouble. Stirtz never fouled out of a game until he played in this conference. Seems he gets 4 a game now and most aren’t fouls. It’s not the issue today but officiating dictates how you can play D.I knew Iowa was undermanned this year, but I am SHOCKED how soft they’ve become defensively and tentative offensively
Some perspective. Ben is in his 1st year at Iowa, without a full recruiting cycle. Painter has been at Purdue for a couple of decades.
This is a team full of Big Ten players against a team cobbled together almost entirely from transfers this past spring, most of whom were not high-conference players a year ago.
This is what is supposed to happen.
It is one game. Flush it away and move on.
Smith has way better players around him.Cuz he’s way better than Stirtz?
Fran >>>BMI can handle a loss by 10 or less but almost 30 is terrible did Fran ever lose by 30 at home?
Agreed. The Maryland game was much more concerning. Some perspective. Ben is in his 1st year at Iowa, without a full recruiting cycle. Painter has been at Purdue for a couple of decades.

Iowa was competitive with Purdue the first time around in West Lafayette. This team doesn't resemble the Iowa from even two weeks ago. Some perspective. Ben is in his 1st year at Iowa, without a full recruiting cycle. Painter has been at Purdue for a couple of decades.

I was thinking the same thing, something has happened to this team recently/Don’t think we will win another game this year.
I had a friend on the Grey Team back in the 80s and he said other teams said Carver was the easiest place in the conference to play. Even when the crowd is there, they are still too far from the court to have much of an impact. It's just how the arena is built and there isn't a lot that can be done about it.Carver is a disadvantage at this point. Putrid, Feeble performance today. Starting to think we won’t even make the Tourney. If we do first round loss as an 11 seed.
I think McCollum can get this program back but we just don't have real big ten talent on this team.
Don’t think we will win another game this year.
The problem is not Carver. The fan base is still in wait and see mode to see if McCollum can turn this around. When you get down double digits early and the team does nothing to help get the fans going, all venues are a morgue. This team will not make the tournament. Carver is an abysmal venue with no advantage. Beth needs to figure out the problem with Carver or will never be another sellout again.
Wrestling(before this year) and women's basketball have no problem having a home court/mat advantageI had a friend on the Grey Team back in the 80s and he said other teams said Carver was the easiest place in the conference to play. Now that’s some BSFran >>>BM
