If Iowa were to get to 10-10 I think they're in. I'm not sold they get there. That's why Maryland was so big.

Correct, before Maryland there was a 3% chance to miss the tournament. After Maryland it went up to 27%. Getting that game was so imperative.
We need to be honest about where we are. This roster is not built to compete at a high level in this conference. That was obvious before the season even started.
But instead of reality, we get spin. Beat writers act like campaign managers for the university, selling optimism and protecting the brand. I just read one claiming we could be a playoff contender in football next year. Based on what? Hope is not a depth chart.
They make their money on hype, access, and keeping people comfortable. At some point you stop calling that analysis and start calling it what it is. Promotion. And right now, I don’t trust any of it.
