Ivey is looking like a semi-bust at this point.

The big 3 outta the BIG that year was Keegan, Ivey and the whisky kid.

Not sure if whisky kid is in league but Keegan is translating to NBA the best
The Wisky kid is Johnny Davis. His first season was a huge disappointment. Going by my old memory, I believe he was the 10th overall pick. Haven't looked to see if he has improved.

Isn’t he the one who was voted BigTen Player of the Year over Keegan?

If I recall it was somewhat controversial and was basically due to Connie winning the conference that year.

@Hawksfor3 , remember when we used to talk about those lowly Pistons?

The Kings (7-23) lost at home to Detroit (24-6), 136-127.

The Kings trailed by 18 pts after 3 quarters.

Keegan's stats:

20 minutes (of 48 possible)

0-1 (0%) from 3
1-3 (33%) from inside the arc
.......................................................
1-4 (25%) Overall shooting

0-0 (0%) FTs

2 Points
1 Rebound (0 offensive)
2 Blocks
1 Steal
1 Assist (0 turnovers)
Keegan left the game early with a calf injury.

I believe that Doug Christie is not ready to be a Head Coach. I know the hand he was dealt when he took over for Mike Brown, but his game plans, in game adjustments, and lack of defense sans Keegan, have been suspect all season long. His assistant is Mike Woodson, who I believe is not a long term answer either. If I had to choose from the short list of coaches in this article, I would go with Taylor Jenkins. I wouldn't take Cassell either because he has no previous Head Coach experience. When Jenkins was fired unexpectedly, he had a good winning record. Who would you pick?

Bucks are at Sac right now if you have a free trial of League Pass. Keegan with 8 in the 1st quarter, including a fly through the lane dunk. Quarter just ended. Bucks by 2.

I was watching LIVE when it happened. The replay really showed how severe it was. Yikes.

Can sort of be a win win for Keegan, and the Kings.

He's already signed his new deal so he's getting paid, and with all the injuries they are likely going to have a nice lottery pick to add some more talent to that roster.

I like that he got a really nice bag. Scott Perry has a lot of work to do to straighten out Monte McNair's blunders.

The Kings have the 3rd worst record in the NBA right now....winning the Lottery sure would help ;)

Matt is leaving Locked on Kings @Franisdaman. I put this up because Matt is Keegan's biggest fan and was from the moment he was drafted. Hate to see him go.

As a follow up to this, for anyone who has followed Sactown Sports 1140 AM for Kings coverage, you are familiar with the show lineups. This short video gives the new lineups and slot for Matt and Kayla. Matt has come back home to where his career began. Where does Kyle Draper go?

Sabonis is listed as questionable for tonight's matchup with the Wizards. He'll most likely play. Will he start? Who knows.

Kings have the worst record in the League at 12-38. Have to feel for Keegan, especially with the injury probs this year. He should be available soon.

It maybe all for the best.

He got his payday.
They're in line for a high lottery pick with the tanked season.
They've gotten to see what some of their new/young guys can do.

If they tank successfully, they might have the option of peterson, dybantsa,or boozer ...the last 2 play keegans position so he could be impacted.

From what I have seen, all three would work but dybantsa is the guy

Kings make a trade. Lose 3 players and gain 1 before the Trade Deadline, which is Feb. 5th.

Keegan is better suited for playing more SF. Adding more versatility and depth at the forward position with length is needed.

Somewhat surprised that DeMar hasn't been traded yet. There was some interest in him early on since the Trade Deadline period began, but not so much now. LaVine and Sabonis' contracts are pricy, so I don't see them moving anytime soon. Sam Amick of The Athletic addressed this recently with Jason Ross. Westbrook not getting interest either. Both DeRozan and Westbrook's contracts are moveable by contrast to LaVine and Domas.
Shame to see Keon go, but the writing has been on the wall for quite awhile.

Bulls make a trade!!
They get saric and 2 2nd round picks for....nothing... weird NBA cap move where bulls do not move anyone but take salary.

Saric even play this season for kings?

Note: Deandre Hunter has a 7'2" wingspan. Even though he's a small forward, this will help defensively. The Kings have converted Dylan Cardwell's contract from a Two-Way to a Standard Contract. He stands at 6'10 and has played very well this year. Scott Perry making moves. Matt George says he believes Perry wants to see these players together with Keegan when he comes back from injury.

I've also been impressed with Precious Achiuwa who at 6'8" also has a 7'2" wingspan.
