In the era of 3-point takedowns, I’m just not a fan of expending a ton of energy for multiple mat returns.
I kinda hope Scooter hits the portal, not loving the lack of sportsmanship. This wasn't the first, second or third time something like this has occurred, if memory serves me corrrectly. You can be chippy, but you got decked. Learn from it for March.

That’s a ridiculous overreaction if you ask me…I love Davis, I’d hate to lose a kid like him! He’ll learn from tonight and be fine, he’s just a fiery kid, you saw it the entire match and then it just went overboard at the end. Is what it is

I imagine Braeden will have some one-on-one time with coaches. I'm sure there will be some talk about maturity, self-control, and some individual work on conditioning. Having said that: I Loved the Effort! All of the concerns can be improved with coaching and time. Kid has never red-shirted and has stepped up and exceeded expectations 1st two years. I expect by the end of the season, we will all once again be impressed with his performance. I'm a fan!
Nobody is perfect at that age it isn't that out of pocket after the dude slapped you twice in the belly he will grow up cael will talk with him

Taylor scrambles out of it & they go out of bounds, no scoring. Stall warning on Taylor. PSU throws the brick. That was close to a TD for PJ. Nick Lee with a weak brick toss & he's getting razzed by Shane Sparks. Lol. Challenge lost, no TD, score stays 0-0. Back to action. Circling, head tapping & hand fighting. PJ snaps & Taylor circles away. PJ goes 2 on 1, but can't find a finish. Stoppage & warning on Taylor for hands to the face. Tying up in the center forehead to forehead. PJ snaps & Taylor drops to his knees. PJ reaches, but Taylor blocks him off, then time expires. 1-0 Taylor

The fans are getting angry. PJ starts down. He works to his feet, but Taylor brings him back to the mat & out of bounds, restart. PJ is still down. Taylor goes optional start. PJ gets the escape, 1-1. Tying up & hand fighting. Taylor is up & down off his knees again. He's hearing boos from the crowd. PJ shoots, but Taylor blocks him off. Taylor reaches for a leg, but can't get there. Taylor tries a throw by, but PJ fights him off & they break. PJ snaps & reaches for an ankle, but Taylor kicks free. Time expires. 1-1

Cry me a frickin’ river. Two belly taps. The horror! The kick was an unwarranted chickensh!# move. Bench him for a match or two while he learns.
I suppose I have an unreasonable higher standard for sportsmanship or conduct as a whole. I became less of a fan of his during his reaction at a B1G tourney either last year or the year before.

Going to be honest here. PJ didn't push enough. Looked tired. Antrell wrestled exactly the type of match he won the NCAAs with.
This ref is awful. Allowed Taylor to stall for 9 minutes. Pathetic officiating.
Crafty vet got the better of true frosh. Tough loss for Duke.
Eh, makes PJ hungrier. I'm OK with it. He'll know what to do differently next time (and there may be some blame to lay on the refs, but....).
Taylor did nothing on offense, Duke needs to improve his riding.
