Shane is one of a kind.
Cael mentioned that in a Friday/Sunday dual situation there is a one-pound weight allowance for the second dual. That was something I had not heard before.
Kinda comical when you step back from it. Athletes and coaches are going to push to tolerance limits to fit within the rules. Where the lines are drawn is rather arbitrary. That's because this season is the first time the rule is in place.
Rule 9 (Medical Examinations, Weight-Ins and ISRF), Section 3 (Weigh-Ins for Dual, Triangular and Quadrangular Meets), Article 2 (1-Pound Weight Allowance) was modified before the start of this season. Previously this Article limited the 1-pound weight allowance to the second day of competition in all instances of back-to-back team competition. It was expanded this year to include, "Additionally, if a team competes in dual meets within a 48-hour window (measured by event start time), all wrestlers shall receive a 1-pound weight allowance for the subsequent dual within that window."
Thanks @Psalm 1 guy for posting my recordings. If anyone is interested, this year I started posting full transcripts of these too, (thanks to AI for the massive assist):Cael mentioned that in a Friday/Sunday dual situation there is a one-pound weight allowance for the second dual. That was something I had not heard before.

HR is Iowan for pathetically stupid. Just saying. My ears perked when I heard Cael say this when I originally listened to the interview. You will never be able to convince some obstinate posters on HR this is the case. Some of them will forever believe Cael is buying his recruits. They just can't fathom that money isn't the primary motivator for some. The thought of going to a program to challenge yourself to be the best wrestler (and person) you can be rather than just wanting a "bag" is foreign to their thinking.
It wasn’t in the binderWould seem “Wrestling by Pirate” didn’t listen to a word Cael said.![]()
I found his words very easy to follow. He's not talking about wrestling hes talking about competing, he's not training to beat Mikey. Mitchell knows what part of the "game" gave him troubles, he doesnt need film for that. He just knows what part of his "game" he needs to work on....period!Mitch is way too deep for me, but any side he and Mikey are on together I sure as hell don't want to be on the other side.
Awe, a BWI romance!I found his words very easy to follow. He's not talking about wrestling hes talking about competing, he's not training to beat Mikey. Wow. Just wow
For a kid built like a tank and known to be as strong as a gorilla he is quite fragile.Kid can’t catch a break. He’s one that will go down as a huge what if he could’ve stayed healthy. His first year with 2 wins against Vito was incredible. That might be the high point and that sucks. Hopefully he can get healthy and have a full season next year
