The Weihenstephaner Vitus won in all classes and thus received the title of “world's best beer”.

In addition, the popular wheat bock beer came top in three further categories. Honours were also bestowed on the “Dark Wheat Beer”, which was crowned “World's Best Dark Wheat Beer” and “Europe's Best Dark Wheat Beer”.

The first beer I got from there, High Confidence, was one of the best hazy IPAs I ever had. Checking out their scores on Untapped and I thought I was looking at Tree House. Apparently, they are only around for two years.

I’ve been on the craft beer ipa scene for quite some time but have become less enthusiastic about the style the past few years.

I now choose authentic German beers that are brewed with limited ingredients including Helles, Pilsner, Hefeweizen, Bock, and Dunkel.

Imo there is no need for fruits, juices, coffee, etc in beer. Some of these ingredients belong in desserts but not beers imo. But to each his own!

Yeah I'm in agreement with you that the IPA hype just isn't there for me anymore and have started appreciating the German styles myself like pilsners, lagers, kolsches, etc. That and I've more or less graduated to bourbon and tequila in my late 30s.

Ayinger Urweisse, which is a strong amber-colored, yeast cloudy wheat beer. The beer is strong with the first taste and malty in aroma. The top-fermented, yeasty taste sensation is unmistakable. Funny how as I've matured into my 30s that I've appreciated the German styles more like pilsners, lagers, marzens, dunkels, kolsches, etc.

I'm pretty sure Midas Touch was always a Dogfish Head beer. In fact, it was the beer that got me into craft beer shortly after turning 21 in 2008.
