Oregon had wrs hurt all year but KK could not get on field. Just how stacked is their wr room?

He will probably head back to Arizona to play.
Was he overrated as a 5 star HS recruit?

I find it hard to believe that there is not at least some regret in his choice out of HS....star players want to get on the field somehow, right?

Unfortunately, he was also hurt all year.

ASU seems like a logical fit. Also everything about kasper sounds like he’s RVZ who I’ll take over him. Granted tough for Iowa to pass up on wr but depending what he’s asking for I’d question if is he really better than Howard and Buie or worth the price whatever it maybe.

Pass. Let's spend time developing someone that will be here for a while. Different story if he was an immediate impact player.
Exactly. I wouldn’t spend a a dime on him at this point. He made his money at Oregon. Oregon kept portaling in guys over him and he was foolish enough to stick around. Should’ve been out of there two years ago.

Next year might be the first time in a minute I'm more excited about the potential of the WR/TE room than I am about the running game. Vanderzee is just beginning, DJ is going to be an absolute monster. That is going to open up the under routes like crazy.
I agree about VanderZee and DJ, but the WR room has major depth issues currently for next year. TE room will be loaded(coaches high on Meyer too). Need multiple WRs from portal. Kasper definitely worth a look. He may be a good target as demand for him may not be very high.

Not sure he can be asking for much more than playing time with his stat line.

Howard and Parker have shown flashes, both need to get over the yips. Iowa has done fairly solid with slot receiver types lately. I am looking forward to Terrence Smith as well. I'm not sure they need multiple WRs, but a solid addition would be helpful. I really just hope they have the QB to get them the ball, that is my largest concern.

It would be an absolute NO BRAINER for the Hawks to roll out the red carpet for a guy like this. Not only did 4 inept WRs graduate off this year's team (guys like superstar Anderson and huge disappointment this year Gill), but the guys who remain on the roster are two notches below the caliber of WR Kasper is.

That's nice and all that VanderZee had a nice catch in the bowl game...but he played in 9 games this year and only had 15 total receptions (as well as 14 receptions in 9 games last year). Not exactly a locked in #1 WR for a Top 25 program next year.

The Hawks could use all the help they can get at the position. If we can get two more VanderZee's or better, we might have an average Big 10 WR corp.

We have no idea what caliber of WR he is. We know he’s not on the level of any of Oregon’s WRs and hasn’t been for 4 years is all.

In a year where we aren’t buying a QB, we should be investing in a proven WR1 from a P4 school. That doesn’t mean it’s gotta be a top five wide receiver portal guy either.

As mentioned previously, we’ve got some young guys with upside that could develop. What we need is somebody with a proven résumé to come in and deliver next year.

Would have loved to have had him two years ago or even last year, but the ship has sailed for me. At least as far as throwing a bag at him. If he’s decided, he’s made his money at Oregon and just wants to be given a real opportunity, I’m all for that.

I saw all 15 of his catches this year. Every one of them.

I also saw USC's WR haul in 10 catches in ONE game vs Iowa. Did you?
Yup, He needs a QB to throw the ball up for him. If Debby, MSU, Vandy, and Minnesota. If he doesn't excite you as a potential deep threat, you have something wrong with you.

Dude has a lot of talent but injuries have slowed his career. Oregon also asks their WR's to be solid downfield blockers. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up at ASU or Arizona.

The thing with Kyler is he’s got a younger brother that is a 2027 recruit. Not as highly rated currently, but his body type is a lot closer to his dad’s than Kyler is. And his dad was a workout warrior that turned from a nobody high school recruit to one of the top WRs we’ve ever had.

Kyler could come in and be a top 2 receiver for us right away. His height and length could be huge in the red zone for a new QB next year. We aren’t Oregon pulling in high-end WR recruits like candy.

I doubt Kasper commands a lot of $$ in the portal, so why not. Also wouldn't be surprised if he's back in AZ
If there is mutual interest, I would take him for the reason you laid out. I think you are probably right that he will transfer to an Arizona school, but if Kyler wants to come here you take him. He would automatically be an upgrade to Seth Anderson and Sam Phillips.

six catches for 77 yards at Oregon, wasted career

if you think Heck won’t throw the ball next year you are a bigger idiot and troll than I thought you were
Literally every receiver post-Smith Marsette wasted their time at Iowa.

If you are good enough to deserve consistent targets and receptions, you do not come to Iowa.

Now, Tim Lester may change this WR death trap in time but…We’re still a beyond-pathetic passing team through 2 years under his operation.

If he was going back to Az, I imagine Arizona would be the landing spot. They will be bringing back Noah Fifita as a starter and they throw the ball around a lot. Fifita is a more humble version of Pavia. Short, mobile, but solid. 2,963/26/5.
