Probably to IndianaGood stuff, is this the fun part of college football?
And he'll have 10 catches for 250.yards and 3 TDs when they play RU. Worst case scenario.Probably to Indiana
we?can't believe how we ruined the sport man
...did you say that last year when we had the $ for the dynamic duo in hoops but not enough for a bench so they could succeed? .. if you were an IU Alumni would you feel the same?can't believe how we ruined the sport man
I mean obviously I was happy to have those guys doesn't change the fact that overall I miss the way things used to be. it's not really about what's good or bad for Rutgers...did you say that last year when we had the $ for the dynamic duo in hoops but not enough for a bench so they could succeed? .. if you were an IU Alumni would you feel the same?
the purpose to many including our own Geo Baker was to help the players earn a living because they couldn't work part time because of sports and also get a piece of the pie....Listed as 3rd round pick in a few mock drafts
so now it’s better to get 2 million from Ohio st then to enter the draft ???
this was not the purpose of NIL
This is completely stupid
It seems out of control and out of character for college level "student athletes." It was much more enjoyable to watch a player come in and develop with 3 or 4 years on the same team. The constant drumbeat of give us more money that used to be for facilities and now for NIL while watching players NIL is paying for departing for another team is making the old "collegiate" sport lose its appeal....did you say that last year when we had the $ for the dynamic duo in hoops but not enough for a bench so they could succeed? .. if you were an IU Alumni would you feel the same?
I must have missed it. What college did we lure Dylan and Ace away from with a big check ?...did you say that last year when we had the $ for the dynamic duo in hoops but not enough for a bench so they could succeed? .. if you were an IU Alumni would you feel the same?
My first reaction was surprise he was entering the portal because he appeared to be evaluated so far as a guy who could go before Day 2 of the draft is over.Smart move to find out your value in the portal & then decide if you want to enter the NFL draft
Granted getting to the NFL gets you to a second contract earlier, but $2 million is more than a mid 3rd rounder (around where he is mocked) gets on a rookie deal.Listed as 3rd round pick in a few mock drafts

the ONLY counterpoint for him staying is if he does go to a OSU type school where they put WR's into the early mid first rounds.Granted getting to the NFL gets you to a second contract earlier, but $2 million is more than a mid 3rd rounder (around where he is mocked) gets on a rookie deal.
These guys staying a year longer in college than expected may lower the ceiling on their potential career football earnings, but they are raising the floor as well.
Duff next?
Agreed this can not be true. Greg has been doing a tremendous job raising money, pounding the pavement .But but I was told RU has all the resources it needs.
There are reasons go beyond money. Players enjoy playing for winners versus teams treading water and/or circling the drain. Maybe Strong talked to Toure at Miami. But you probably still think Greg is the right man for the job.But but I was told RU has all the resources it needs.

There is no guarantee at all that a player gets to the 2nd big deal. Most don’t.the ONLY counterpoint for him staying is if he does go to a OSU type school where they put WR's into the early mid first rounds.
Otherwise, it is a short term money grab. Even though a rooking in the NFL does not earn $2 M - he would be near that as an average and a year earlier to a life changing 2nd contract.
The only good news is that we all expected him not to be back in 2026 anyway- I hope it just isn't against us
Exactly. Rutgers simply cannot compete in the big money ball game for the top flight players. Kid turned down $1M. System is out of control. Why are people surprised by this
Richie seemed to indicate on X that it was not about money.Exactly. Rutgers simply cannot compete in the big money ball game for the top flight players. Kid turned down $1M. System is out of control.
What guarantee do Duff and Strong have right now that Rutgers will have a QB and passing game that can take advantage of their talents next year like they did this year?Richie seemed to indicate on X that it was not about money.
Only 4 B10 schools out spent RU? And we finished 5-7 with a 6th year QB? WTFSee below for BIG10 football spend. Not sure of 2025 budget but one could assume larger. Plus $20.5m revenue sharing plus some undisclosed additional NIL being raised. Not sure this is a money issue, which IMO isn't well discussed.
Like any corporate entity the Rutgers football program needs to be completely scrubbed and restructured. That is a skill which I'm not sure they currently possess.

Have no inside knowledge, but think that is part of it. And watching Toure yesterday, there is attractiveness to playing on a bigger stage too. What guarantee do Duff and Strong have right now that Rutgers will have a QB and passing game that can take advantage of their talents next year like they did this year?
