Sad fact is, occasionally an Eastern team will win a title (Not counting Tarboro they are amazing) but most years they come in like Kinston did in 2015 15-0 and get a 57 spot put on them.. It was so bad some dude in the paper down there even dogged Kinston and I took up for them in the comments,. He was a douche... Anyway occasionally an eastern team finds a nut, I just hope it aint this year in 3a ha ha.. If so Ill quote this and tell how wrong I was...

Its Kinstons chance to take down a Giant but yall aint got a slingshot and we are carrying the rock....

Ayden Grifton: Sounds like a character on Harry Potter (Well you won but by 11)
White Oak: Only good in Liquor making in Kentucky barrels (Yall only won by 6)
Greene Central: Sounds like a bathroom cleaning solution (ONE POINT WIN)
South Central: WHO???? (YALL LOST TO THEM???)
Midway: thats a carp lake in Shelby (Decent victory over the fishing school)

Oh I know Big Shelby ain’t scared… I’m def pulling for Kinston, it’s my rival but I cover them exclusively with Neuse News Sports. Putting out a lot of content this week check it out

Out of all the things I have heard about Kinston, and i've been following Kinston football for years, one thing i've NEVER heard is Kinston is not fast enough 😂😂, I will say this I think Shelby goes into this one the favorite, but they are in for a rude awakening if they are banking on Kinston not being fast enough 😂😂😂😂😂

Its just different out west. Shelby will be the best team Kinston seen all year. Kinston will be the 5th or 6th best team Shelby has played. Thats all

Not all Shelby fans think like some of the posters on here. Some of us think it will be a tight close game and more or less a shoot out. I don't see either team stopping the other a whole lot. If Shelby can get pressure on the QB that will hopefully make a big difference. Most of the last 6 games we have been fairly balanced except for the Eastern Randolph game. Our offense has finally morphed into what I've wanted to see for years, spread it and have them fast receivers running all over the place instead of bombs away. It's also helped our running game a lot.

Understood! It’s been pretty respectful for the most part and entertaining. We all got different type of fans, Kinston def have a few fans that I wished would stop talking lol I hope for a great game! Good luck

Known to have track success as well. Elite 4x100 (DQ at regionals) 4x200 finished 5th in state, 4x4 finished 5th too. They def got guys that can go.

I just watched some of their games and agree with you about there is a big difference in team speed between the two, not even close. I also think Shelby will be way more physical. After the first quarter, i believe Kinston will have go to a heavy dose of run and 1 step drop passes to the outside because the Shelby defensive front will attack that o-line hard and fast. Same goes for the Shelby o-line, I think they make it to the 2nd and 3rd level whenever they want on run plays.

So what yall saying is…

Shelby will be too physical and too fast. They will be able to run at will and Kinston basically won’t be able to pass?

On any given friday(Saturday in this case), lol. But in my opinion, yes they will run on that front 7. Kinston will be able to pass, just not down field, lol. 1 step back, pass to the sides. The speed coming off the edge will be let loose against a non running threat qb.
Of course, just my opinion.

I can respect this. I think I compare Kinston preparation for this game will be like for the Tarboro game. They got everything out in 2-3 seconds to counter Tarboro hellafide DE Powell. They throw it deep some but Kinston really don’t beat teams with the long ball. Their goto guys are 6’3 and 6’5

Frankly, the only real question is whether Shelby will cover what should be about a 3 TD favorite line. Kinston has been flying under the radar until last week but asking them to beat a great team like the Golden Lions is quite a stretch. That’s a mighty big rock to overcome.
