Consistency of bad body language, no motion, bad ball movement, can't shoot is a mental issue.

We have seen these players shoot well... before the UofL game.

Whatever happened before that UofL game has changed the course of the season.

Yes I know talent is also an issue. But what is putting us down is the mental.

It's clear Pope hasn't found a solution.

Another issue is that these players *may* not believe in Pope as the coach, which is a major issue

No heart, no effort, but they will get their paycheck!

After thinking about it all game, watching the game, and them recalling past games. Oweh is one of the causes for this mental issue., If he is the cancer, you server it. The guess is based off bad consistent body language, complaining he doesn't get the ball, when he's not a willing passer.

If I was the media, I would hound Pope to tell us what happened before the UofL game.

I’ve said this for weeks. It’s definitely a weak mindset, mental issue. Team chemistry is non existent and players aren’t held accountable.

These guys are being paid, basketball is their job. When people do things detrimental to the company or don’t do their job, they get fired. Pope needs to teach some “life lessons” and start firing guys! Sooner or later the ones left will get the message.

I don’t think Pope has enough backbone to discipline these guys. Last years team and a lot of his BYU teams had a lot more maturity, so it didn’t take a lot of oversight with team issues. That combined with not having a PG. Of course I’m just guessing

The responsibility falls on the CEO which is Pope, he either reels these guys in or gets replaced. It’s a business now, can guarantee the big money donors aren’t happy right now.

I think theres some really big POS's on the team. We just dont quite know who yet.

Pope should 100% know who the problem players are and you have to kick one off, just to send a message and maybe remove the team cancer.
Like others said, he won't do it. I don't think he has the heart, doesn't want to be seen as the bad guy. He's cutting off his own nose.

Not a good sign then. I think as a coach, after this start, you have to kick out a player, and maybe even fire an assistant.

You cant go into next game with no changes. And if Pope is "business as usual" then thats even more of a sign hes not meant for this job.

The bench can be a hospital. You can be sent there to heal or to die. Some of these guys need to find themselves there. If we’re gonna lose, I’d rather lose with the guys who have fight and heart. I’d at least respect Pope for it. What I’m seeing right now is lack of control & accountability.

I'm very disappointed in him right now, but I know that means nothing. We're just fans. But how can ANYONE, who is supposedly all about the school they used to play for (regardless of school) ALLOW something like that to happen? If ever there was a moment when a team pulls something out of their *** to protect the dignity of their home court, this is it.
