Should be a good tussle but I like the buckeyes.
Most will say Ohio State, but I think we're at a point where you never count out Indiana with Cignetti.
OSU by 10+.

I think it'll be a hell of a game. Don't usually watch other teams (apart from a look-in here or there). I'm gonna watch this one.
I genuinely think Ohio State massacres them. Indiana looked great last season...until they ran into elite teams. And then they were very quickly outmatched. Sure they scored garbage time points to make the final score look okay, but they were so out classed by OSU and ND last year it wasn't even funny.
Until I see otherwise, I'm going to assume Cignetti's system works great against teams like Nebraska, not so much the Ohio States and Georgias of the world.

I think OSU's defense holds Indiana to 17 or less points, and I think OSU scores over 30. The only OSU wins by less than 10 is if they are -1 in TO margin. The only way OSU loses to Indiana is if they're -2 in TO margin.

I think that IU's performance will depend on whether Sarrat plays. They're not dead in the water without him be he is elite receiver.

I'm split. I am tired of OSU...but I can't stand the thought of Indiana winning the BIG in year 2.
Indiana's dominance starts at the LOS. When they compete with a team that can match thier LOS play, they aren't the world beaters they think they are. Which is why Iowa and Oregon played them so close. OSU has better talent on both the LOS and skill position players along with a great QB. They won't be able to keep up with the Buckeyes.
Indiana may very well keep it close until late 2nd quarter or early to mid third quarter,but I just do not think that anyone can hang with Ohio State for much longer than that.
I think Indiana is the more battle tested team while OSU is the more talented team. I also think Indiana is out to prove they belong and Cignetti is ruthless. Indiana by 3 (or less).
If both teams play even as far as turnovers, penalties, special teams which are the things that are hard to predict and many times determine the games, I think the bucks win in a close game.
OSU's defense is really really good but one of their corners is gettable and makes some PI penalties.
Will Indy's OLIne be good enough? The QBs are both great and Indy has really good receivers but Smith and Tate are almost all Pro now and Innis is very good.
Will Ryan Day play it tight like he did against Mich at home in 2024 when OSU did not look like themselves or will they really mix things up and throw some bombs. Cignetti is going to be aggressive on offense no matter what and he expects his run game to be great with big gash runs
And OSU Def Coord Matt Patricia is watching it a number of times. These coord have their grad assistants and assistants breaking down these game videos probably for the past 2 weeks heading into this week.
Saw a NFL draft analyst ratings for top 50 draft prospects and he had Reese and downs at #1#2 overall, tate at # 9,styles at#18, McDonald,dt at #30....OSU is loaded. Mendoza was #7, the only IU guy who made list.

Don't particularly care for either team, but can't stomach Cignetti coming into the conference and winning it all in year two, for a basketball school no less,... Will be rooting for the Buckeyes.
CC went to Oregon and won. Not many teams do that. Remember the Hawks last trip to Eugene! it was like 48-7. Not looking forward to going there again.
Last year’s games against OSU and ND are completely irrelevant. This Indiana team woul beat last year’s thoroughly. They are MUCH better in the trenches this year.

There’s nothing fluky about the Hoosiers this year. Their DL is elite. OSU’s OL is very good, but I don’t think the Buckeyes are gonna push them around at ALL.
In my opinion, neither team will be able to run the ball enough to rely on it, but Indiana has a better chance of success with it than OSU. OSU, my opinion again, has a slight advantage in the passing game given how good both secondaries are.
Indiana’s path has been more difficult. Those road wins against us and Oregon are very meaningful. I think points will be hard to come by.

The only way this game finishes within four scores is if OSU plays the entire second half with a student manager at QB, as a joke. Like, Ryan Day plays a prank on Brian Hartline and puts Tyler Bauer in at QB so OSU only scores TDs on 50% of their drives instead of 100%.
I could absolutely be wrong. But seeing Indiana's performance against good but not elite teams leads me to believe they are more of the same.
