there were times during the 2022 and 2023 season that I truly felt like sticking needles in my eyes
I dunno these last 5 quarters have been worst i have seen in long time just no chance to score on offense.

Kirk has been an embarrassment to the sport and to the University since 2015. There’s an expression “**** or get off the pot.” We’ve been **** for 10 years. Time to get off the pot.
Chill out. Guy has been an amazing figure for Iowa. It’s ok to admit he needs to go but deserves a good send off because he has done tons of good for Iowa.

He deserves nothing. Between his gaudy salary for below average results, the lawsuits, the nepotism, the illegal recruiting, the wasted talent, the wasted money, the wrongful terminations, what tons of good has he done for Iowa?

it’s time to extend Kirk!!!! What a win!! He wins HIS way, doesn’t care that it’s the worst entertainment in all of college football

do you really want to take a chance ??? Yeah we don’t beat ranked teams anymore, but damn it….a game winning FG by our senior kicker on senior day!!!

You’d be crazy to move on from this

I truly hope Kirk retires gracefully after the Bowl game and after the recruiting class is in the barn and the keys are handed to someone younger on the Staff on a short 3 Year prove it deal , Sorry coming back and winning against that trash Spartan Team does not wipe away the product Iowa put on the field for 50 Minutes of this game , Iowa cannot allow the decline like happened at the end of Hayden's tenure, Not fair to Kirk or the Program

Psst, I'll let you in on something, it already has. This year feels so much like 1997 to me. Except at least 1997 had a good core of talented players left from a few good recruiting classes. Then the wheels fell off. Its very similar to where we are now imo. The talent gap between Iowa and the top 10-15 programs is huge and only it's only going to keep growing while KF stays.

You all know that KF is going to be back in 2026 as head coach, right? There's nothing you can do to change that, you know that too right?

13 straight losses vs ranked teams. It's time. I appreciate the miracle win today against a trash team, but Iowa needs a better QB and WR corps, the last 10 years of failing to get that have been brutal to watch and we are not making the playoff without it.

I think it is time but it is very important to keep this recruiting class, It is one of the top classes Kirk has recruited which is why I said promote a Member of the Staff if they can convince Kirk to retire.

" The talent gap between Iowa and the top 10-15 programs is huge and only it's only going to keep growing while KF stays. "

Hint: It always has been, always. I'd say the top 35 programs, yet we always compete. We develop. We send 3 stars to the NFL. Love the Iowa way. Maybe there's some 5 stars in the NIL pipeline headed our way with a new coach, but I doubt it...

It hasn't always been this wide, especially places like dline, and wide receiver. There was a stretch when we were bringing in some legit studs there, now we're hoping for a legacy/rare high level in state guy, or to hit on a developmental player or two which just isn't enough.

This is exactly right.

Kirk ball is not attracting actual talent or athleticism. Wetjen is a fantastic kick returner (to say the least), but he cannot compete at this level as an actual wide receiver.

Since Brandon Smith and ISM graduated, you could make a strong case that Iowa has had the worst receiving corps at the P4 level every single year. And in the transfer portal era they have not brought in one receiver who has made a lick of difference. Jacob Gill is the best they have brought in to this point, and his numbers are less than pedestrian. Currently for 2025, he has 22 receptions for a whopping 260 yards and 1 TD. Pathetic these are the numbers your top WR is putting up in this era of college football.

The bottom line is Ferentz ball just isn’t working. Yes, they consistently beat mediocre competition, but when it comes to a team actually in the top 25, they are still winless in like 13 or 14 attempts, or whatever it is.

Next year is going to be worse and has 1998 written all over it.

It’s time.

This is not correct. When Iowa had great teams under Hayden and Kirk (the 2000s), the talent gap for Iowa’s starters was not significantly lower than most top teams in the country outside of the Alabamas and Ohio States of the country. Yes, there has always been a talent gap in comparison to the top 15 programs, but it was in no way as substantial as it has been the last 15 years.
