Don't know anything about CC, but do know the Cards. They will score at least 30. This will come down to turnovers and who can avoid them. Jacksonville doesn't have or need a D1 qb since they don't rely on his play alone to win. What they do have is a three headed monster in the backfield. The QB decides to keep or pitch on just about every play. All it takes it one good block or one wrong guess by the defense and a 20+ yard gain or more happpens before you know it.
Graham Brinker is only 5'9", 175 lbs, but he has breakaway speed, reads his blockers, and has field vision as good as any RB I have ever seen. He's also a really strong runner for his size. Kijeir Finister is a 5'10", 200 lb. bowling ball. He's the punishing back that can pound defenders when he hits the hole. The QB is deceiving with his power and speed at 5'10" and 180 lbs. Regardless, whoever gets the ball in their hands is a threat to break it long.
CC had better be able to contain the corners. JHS will run the option to the outside all night long if it isn't stopped. That movement gets defenses moving with the play, then they will simply make the fake and go right up the middle. Very little of the offense is based on the pass. It's more or less used to take defenders out of the middle of the field to keep defenses thinned out and forced to cover outside.
CC looks like they have a really good defense, but I doubt they've faced a trio in the backfield like JHS. Also, because they run the ball, JHS can eat some clock as well. Cards may lose, but I doubt very seriously they will get beaten badly. Honestly, the Havelock game friday night was a bigger game to the team than the state championship, They came out to a packed house, hostile away atmospher, under the lights. An 11:00 game on a neutral field won't have the same big time atmosphere. I don't think they'll play tight. Their big game is behind them.
