One thing about film is this... it does not lie! Fans can get on here and brag about this or that all they want. If that is what y’all are calling dominate from what I saw. Cool! Well coached discipline team sure I will give you that. World beaters? Nah! I stand by that 100% I actually watched the game against Huss online. Exactly why I am puzzled with the best defense in the state stuff regardless of classification. Solid defense? Yes very! The best? No!
The Catholic Huss game was not on video. Audio only. Confused?

Don't know anything about CC, but do know the Cards. They will score at least 30. This will come down to turnovers and who can avoid them. Jacksonville doesn't have or need a D1 qb since they don't rely on his play alone to win. What they do have is a three headed monster in the backfield. The QB decides to keep or pitch on just about every play. All it takes it one good block or one wrong guess by the defense and a 20+ yard gain or more happpens before you know it.

Graham Brinker is only 5'9", 175 lbs, but he reads his blockers and has field vision as good as any RB I have ever seen. He's also a really strong runner for his size. Kijeir Finister is a 5'10", 200 lb. bowling ball. He's the punishing back that can pound defenders when he hits the hole. The QB is deceiving with his power and speed at 5'10" and 180 lbs. Regardless, whoever gets the ball in their hands is a threat to break it long.

CC had better be able to contain the corners. JHS will run the option to the outside all night long if it isn't stopped. That movement gets defenses moving with the play, then they will simply make the fake and go right up the middle. Very little of the offense is based on the pass. It's more or less used to take defenders out of the middle of the field to keep defenses thinned out and forced to cover outside.

CC looks like they have a really good defense, but I doubt they've faced a trio in the backfield like JHS. Also, because they run the ball, JHS can eat some clock as well. Cards may lose, but I doubt very seriously they will get beaten badly. Honestly, the Havelock game friday night was a bigger game to the team than the state championship, They came out to a packed house, hostile away atmospher, under the lights. An 11:00 game on a neutral field won't have the same big time atmosphere. I don't think they'll play tight. Their big game is behind them.
Well you just laid it out exactly what will happen!!

Jacksonville ran 71 plays Friday night against Havelock. In last years finals, Havelock ran 47 plays.

The key for Jacksonville will be to sustain drives and get points. It is very difficult to get any rhythm or consistency when your offense is on the sideline for extended periods.

Jacksonville needs to get stops and maybe a turnover or two. The line needs to execute and stay on their blocks.

Everyone says CC is not impressive getting off the bus but I suspect they are more athletic than those posters admit. I have noted that undersized and athletically “challenged” players rely on technique, discipline and implementation of the coaches scheme. Those teams are dangerous.

Hoping the Jax coaching staff has the Cards well prepared.

Let’s go Cards.

Anybody who has said that has not seen this Catholic team. Big and physical

Great, we will welcome a big physical team. Do you think they are as big and physical as your team, Mallard Creek? I mean just because y’all got shut doesn’t mean we will.

Maybe you didn’t make good adjustments or maybe you just underestimated them, that’s your fault.

Now go watch basketball and get out of here!!

UNCWguy..... 30? Really? You are right. You don’t know anything about CC. I’ll put it to you like this... UNCW football team has a similar chance of putting up 30.

Are you counting on Defensive or Special Teams TDs or more fumbled KORs giving you really short fields or what?

My only comment is that ConnerP, B&G are not Catholic fans. Their views are pretty unbiased when it comes to this game.

Well I’ve watched my son play against Huss and Kings Mountain and we stomped the shot out of those teams.

Y’all west boys best get ready!! Speed kills and so do the Cards!!

You see we played at South Poiint so we have seen all these teams for years. I played at Jax so familiar with them. I know Mallard Creek because kids played with us as well.

I just want to see a good game and these know it alls stop trying to trash the East. I get it all and have seen it first hand.

Our conference is what it is as is yours, we don’t choose them. When we talk averages between what the great CC does on defense how about what we do on offense? As much as they can stop us based on averages we can score on them based on averages.

Put the ball down and blow the whistle!!

They are just talking out of their ***. He's never seen CC film. He has no insiders to the program. Not even from the area. Both these guys are crazy as hell. No need to try and explain anything to them. They said at the start of this thread, they shouldn't even show up or JHS will have a running clock put on them. Now their saying will put up 30 or 40. They are classless and clueless as he'll

You guys sound like East Forsyth fans with your inferiority "hey pay attention to us" complex.

Very true. It happens when your new to playing in state title games. Been 24 years and after this blowout will be another 24 years

Never trashed anyone. Said Catholic wins this 28-7 I believe. Its just a prediction...nothing personal about it.

Thanks for the welcome. Don't spend much time on message boards but wanted to get some info on CC. Found this site to get some CC info, but HS football message boards aren't my life.

Probably not going to find any eastern teams or players on top of the stats, we only played 12 games due to the hurricane, while CC, for example, played 15 games. Our #1 running back was also injured to start the first Havelock game and sat out the next two games, so he only played in 9 games.

CC gave up 24 points to Marvin Ridge. If you don't think JHS can put up one more TD than that, you're in for a big surprise.

30 on Catholic? Someone is having a wet dream. They’ll be lucky to score twice. Weddington has two 1000+ yard rushers and a stud QB. Better than the Birdies so called “trio” any day of the week. We crushed them 20-0 in conference play.

Our offense is at least as good as Jacksonville and our defense ten times better. Hammer time in five days. The Birdies are going belly-up.

Write it down.

This thread sounds familar. Almost identical to the Havelock thread last year and the Rose thread the year before. Same story...you guys run up these 50-60 pt scores against these 2a teams and think its gonna look like that.

Then comes kickoff......not so much.

Beating up Pop Warner schools then bragging about how great they are. Sad, although this kind of false bravado isn’t unusual with an underdog inferior program. It’s an expected outcome when entering the Land of the Giants.

They’re in the pit now with no way out and that beak just isn’t sharp enough B&G. Oh well, guess ignorance really is bliss. Tweet Tweet.
