New Bern stacked the box against Catholic and dominated them. They have 26 yards in the first half. Maybe 150 for the game. They had 60-70 yards off one play. Lol Catholic is not a passing team. They try to beat you with misdirection and trying to sneak a receiver out every once in awhile. The problem is. If they have to depend on there passing to come back from 2 scores down then it will be trouble for them. Theres a reason why they make it this far every year but struggle to win if they play from behind. They can't depend on there passing game to bring them back. They don't do it enough to be consistent. They average right at 100 yards a game. They havnt needed to pass all year. Same thing the year New Bern beat them!

23-15. Took a perfect Mike Hughes pass to seal the deal. New Bern was undefeated that season. Catholic scored more points on New Bern than any other team except Havelock which put up 21.

Havelock will be the best team we play, but 252 doesn't know what he's talking about. Can guarantee he hasn't seen a single full CC game.

I didn’t say y’all didn’t have speed on defense I said offense wise your only threat really is your rb running wise learn how to read your qb isn’t gonna run for a 80 yard td like southern nash qb that’s what I’m trying to get y’all to understand they had a qb who legit ran a 4.5 4.4 and three good running backs y’all have a great running back but who else is gonna come in and run when he gets tired ? Lol

Charlotte Christian has a much better team than Havelock. Christian had a QB who has an offer from Alabama and a running back going to Stanford. The cougar defense gave up 14 points(and that was without the starting MLB who is going to Lehigh and a starting DE who has 14 sacks this year in 11 games)

CC also has plenty of weapons on offense. #24 is a big boy and is very hard to bring down. I hope you're DB's are physical because they have to be to bring him down. Also #42 is a fast running back who is a good receiver as well. Catholic QB has thrown for 23 touchdowns and 3 interceptions the whole year while completing 69% of his passes(according to maxpreps). They also have a great TE who is very tall and fast. CC has had 6 turnovers the whole year.

Does their qb have over 4000 passing yards this season 40+ tds with only like 7 interceptions I doubt it

And Charlotte Christian qb has 24 passing tds with 6 interceptions only 2300 passing yards 68 percent completion rate

As havelock qb has 46 td passes to 7 interceptions 4057 passing yards with a 72 percent completion rate so I could careless about Charlotte Christian offer from Alabama he ain’t better than our qb

If you think Charlotte Christian is better than this team you’re on some drugs and our defense ain’t small so we not worried about your 6’1 215 full back we got some line backers and a safety that size and bigger plus tall backs are easier to tackle rather than a 5’10 220 pound back they had to play last game

Bears held CC to 4 ypc on 36 runs, wasn’t easy to do against their RB’s and O line. NB only gave up 14 defensively against Havelock, other TD was on a blocked punt for a TD.

Christian QB is very good, indeed. Havelock has 7 guys with D1 offers, as of now.

This is not the same Catholic team when they played New Bern. We have scrimmaged Catholic now in August for the last 7 years or so. This the best fielded Catholic team I have ever seen. But hey, anything can happen and especially in a State Title game. But Good Luck!!

Also the best Havelock I have ever been able to watch. They are balanced, Offense, Defense. They do their job. But as said, anyone can win on any given day.

I think the Havelock teams in 2011-2012 were a notch above this one. Coop, Woods and Scott etc. Cooper being able to touch the ball every snap in 2012 like Hughes did for New Bern makes you almost impossible to stop especially when both could sling it as well.

Key for Catholic will be slowing down Havelock's ground game and getting early pressure on the QB. Blitzing with #10 Chase Foley might get it done along with #6 coming off the right side of offensive line. If CC can do that it'll go a long way.
Turnovers will be key as well, CC got 5-6 of them vs Robinson. Cannot turn the ball over vs Havelock or they will make you pay that is for sure. They are big and fast, remind me a bit of Dudley on film.

Holds are gonna happen if u run all night and the difference is with southern Nash is their whole back field could run and are sprinters the only person that’s decently fast is cathlotic running back

Oh I’m a SN fan I know our backfield is full of studs.

SN also had a stud defense. Maybe not on CC level but one of the best in 3a I’m sure and Havelock torched is all night. Im interested in this game so I’ll probably be there.

Havelock is extremely balanced as they have over 4,000 yards passing and 3,000 rushing. #22 is the big-play guy for the Rams who has both 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 receiving. They have 4 guys with over 600 yards receiving and two guys with over 1,000 yards rushing. The QB isn't a threat to run but he gets the ball out quick and is very accurate completing 72% of his passes. On D they swarm to the ball as they have 5 guys with over 100 tackles for the season. Their safeties are 6'2 and will lay the wood. Key for Havelock will be penalties, they can't afford to be undisciplined against a team like Catholic.

No they cannot, penalties will kill either team. If Catholic can force Havelock into passing situations it'll go a long way. They have their deep balls and crossing routes, but lots of pop passes too and short passes that they do an excellent job of getting yards out of.

Havelock has had too many penalties lately but their offense has been good enough to bail them out. Doing that against CC's D would not bode well for them, I don't think. Love both coaches so I know both teams will be prepared, just going to come down to execution.

Yes, execution and turnovers/penalties I think determine this game. I expect it to be a great one too

You should wish your team well all of those stats don’t mean anything you guys steamrolled everyone to this point. We just played a team that has done the same thing and that didn’t mean a thing in the end.

It only matters after the kick off and see what happens next HHS has been plagued with penalties but they haven’t broken when that happens. Who ever has a cleaner game will win all I can say CC shouldn’t run all through HHS. I can say I have seen CC play very good attacking offense nothing special you didn’t have to do anything special to the teams you played. HHS doesn’t get rattled they just stick to the game plan the only Bad game was WRH and they almost pulled that one out it was just a bad game but positives at the same time. Just don’t sleep on them there is more components to that offense and defense then ever before. All I can say is enjoy the game this isn’t the same type of team that has won before. It should be fun. Good luck to both teams GO Rams bring it back to the East Coast.

Compare this QB to his brother. Somewhat the same type of player? I remember he had nice stats.

I’ve seen both...live and in person. I think this will obviously be the best teams either has seen all year.

Havelocks speed is a problem for anybody, they can score from anywhere on the field at anytime. Defensively they have a ton of speed outside which should be interesting since that’s where Catholic likes to run. A concern for me if I’m Havelock is the size of the Catholic OL against my DL. Catholic’s OL is what makes them great offensively, 42 and 24 are good but Havelock has seen kids like that. For Catholic to win they’ve got to put it on the backs of their OL and number 2.

For Catholic defensively they are very good and very disciplined at what they do. The middle lb, defensive tackle and number 21 are their best players defensively in my opinion. I’ll be interested to see if they can play with Havelocks speed on the outside. While Catholic has played teams that can throw it. I don’t know if they’ve played a team that can throw it this well.

This games too close to call in my book, should be a doozy.

I’m not sleeping on cathlotic at all like I said I believe they win A lot of games with their defense just like crest did in 2014 I just believe this team is a lot better than that 2014 team also tho

But I wouldn’t be surprised if either team won because cathlotic defense is special and they are disciplined but the pentalities ain’t gonna be that big of a deal I don’t believe they really cut them out last week hopefully they can do the same this week

Hmm. I wonder if I can make it to Durham after the MC/WF game and be there before the game starts. I'm not really interested in seeing Harding and Scotland play. But the posters in here make it seem like Havelock can topple Charlotte Catholic. And with the performance they put up against Western Alamance, they may be able too. Decisions decisions.

This is probably the best matchup on Super Saturday and I am strongly considering making the trip to Duke since I have never seen Havelock in person.

After watching the Havelock Western Alamance game and looking at every catholic video I could see, Catholic better bring their A game. If they aren't careful, it will become a blowout fast. Havelock 47, Catholic 7

Don't forget #6 coming off the edge. I think he now has 14 sacks, maybe more. Kid is an animal. Those sacks are in just 11 games too as he missed the first four with an injury.

Yeah 6 is good too, just thought the DT was the force...allowed the focus to be inside and 6 came from the outside. It'll be a battle inside if the DT and 55 for Havelock matchup against each other. Both these teams are elite. CatholicCougs do you think CC would be in the championship if they were still in 4A?

I think they COULD be if they were still 4A. CC would've had to stop Crouch...we can speculate if they could or not. I think they'd have a great shot if they were in 4A. Harding does have some big boys upfront though so itd be a battle.
