Sucks for us fans but Wendell gave us 3 years and it was best for him to leave. Don't think he has that much more upside by staying another year other than moving a few picks up. There was no way he was going top 15 even if he stayed another year. Wish him nothing but the best. Thanks Wendell for 3 great years.

Keels has not been recruited over; he has a spot at SG waiting for him. He is not projected in the first round in most mock drafts. Common sense says he comes back for one more year and goes around 18 next year, but you never know what kids will do. I think Keels is a pivotal decision for us like mark last year. The difference between good and possibly great.

This program is going to fool around and not be very good next year. Cover is getting bare and a few good freshmen ain’t gonna save it. Duke has got to find a way to get these kids to stay longer

Even Kentucky is getting guys back now. Oscar and Wheeler.
Neither we’re going to get drafted . Oscar just got a 2 million NIL deal that’s more then he’ll make going in the second round Wheeler was never going in the draft. It’s hard to turn down first round money period !

To be fair, the guy talking about Keels and Moore staying, actually said Moore was on the fence but may stay. He only said that Keels was for sure back, he never said Moore was for sure coming back.
The latest chat was keels was “on the fence” which means he’s gone. On the fence guys don’t return to duke

Correct. No one said Moore was coming back, just that he was on the fence.

I'll eat some crow. I had/have ZERO inside info, I just had the gut feeling Moore would come back and stated so multiple times here. :(

Best of luck Wendell! Make us proud.

Save the crow man. I think a lot of us foolishly had a feeling he would return

True. But, to be fair, is there a good answer? Are some of the kids leaving because of who’s being recruited, or just that they want to leave?
Duke has been caught with their pants down with some kids leaving, with no one really in place. Frank Jackson comes to mind, as does Deng and Livingston.

I don’t know what the answer is. I do know it is very frustrating as a fan.

To be honest , Steward has made decent money off his four ten day contracts with the kings this past season . I just think he’s not a combo guard and not good at the pg spot to stay on a roster. I don’t know where Hurt is after being let go by Houston .

We have 5 guys who could possibly be drafted. 3 guys have declared, AJ should declare today or tomm. Keels could give us some good news. No word on Roach, unless it is assumed he is staying. Roach would not be drafted and has the PG spot locked up. No word on Blakes, do we assume he's back? If we go 5 for 5 with guys leaving early that is a lot of firepower to replace (and 2 key upperclassman) and I don't see how we are as good as we were this year. Considering we don't seem to be aggressively pursuing a SG in the portal I will take that as a sign Keels may be back.

True but last year we had Williams and Moore back. And Roach. If Keels and Roach are back that is a good start. But that frontcourt is awfully green, so a back up transfer big is a must. The ACC will be better next year. UNC and Virginia will have veteran teams.

If Love goes pro, maybe he doesn't light us up like a Christmas tree and we can beat them. Has he made a decision? As far as stretching out NBA decisions until the last minute Duke is #1.

If Love comes back and Keels leaves it could get ugly around here ha. We need some good news this week, because just Roach and Baker returning is close to a worst case scenario for us regarding the draft. There is a mention or two on DBR about "rumblings" that Keels is leaving but it's all just rumor at this point. I'm bracing for the worst but hoping for the best.

Oh no doubt. Wasn't at all going after anyone, we are all Duke fans! I just remember someone sounding pretty confident he was back. If Keels come back, with this elite class coming in- I'll be happy allll off-season.

Completely agree. I'm with you that we are all Duke fans and want to best for the program. Here's to hoping Keels stays and works hard on his game for next season.

My hope is fading fast; but I've been wrong before. Seems like the longer it goes the more likely Keels is leaving.
