I agree with the poster who said let's see how the season plays out, but if it doesn't get a lot better than it is now I think TU has to figure out whether the short term cost of letting him go outweighs the long term cost of keeping him around.

Big factor is the short term cost of letting him go eliminates the thing about the long term cost of not letting him go.

And if they would or could let him go how much do you think they would spend on the new guy? It ain't gonna be 1.3mil. It'd probably be 6 or 800k, my bet is closer to 600k. Careful you might get what you ask for. Then we'd be considered jr league for halving our salary. He won't be fired after this season.

I think the most likely scenario is his contract isn't renewed or he's let go midway through his last contracted season. Which would be the 2019-2020 season (???)

It's not looking like any of the guys he has coming in at the moment are going to push us to the elite level that a lot of us desire to return to.

If Gragg extends his contract without him achieving multiple NCAA births it could turn out to be the second worst move in program history; next to extending Wojcik.

I wouldn’t plan on seeing a contract extension until we make the tournament... if things really don’t work out, he’ll be let go season after next (end of his contract). But I know he has not been given an extension.

It was almost exactly the same as Travis Ford moving from OSU to St. Louis. 3 years left on his contract, leaving a bunch of money on the table.

Oklahoma State and basketball coach Travis Ford have mutually agreed to part ways.

Rampant speculation evolved into reality Friday, with sources telling The Oklahoman the decision had been made Friday afternoon and OSU confirming the move in a release early Friday evening.

After eight seasons and with three years and $7.2 in guaranteed salary still remaining on his contract, Ford failed to survive following OSU's worst season in three decades and amid rapidly dwindling fan support.

There was very little difference.

The only “mutual” agreement in the OSU - Travis Ford divorce was the buyout. He was told his tenure at OSU was over and the lawyers then worked on a buyout.

That's fair enough. But that was certainly what was written on the wall with Haith at Mizzou. They were ecstatic that they didn't have to pay out his contract.

What are these stringent entrance requirements that I’ve never heard of? Outside of JUCO transfer credits we’re no different than anyone else as far as I know

They are the same as they are for normal students. The athletes don’t get special treatment with lowered entrance requirements like a lot of schools.

I'm pretty sure everyone just goes by the NCAA minimum requirements in regards to HS recruits.

BTW, with us having 3 JUCO kids committed right now... who wants to put odds on the possibility that at least one of them never sees campus due to Tulsa's DUMB credit transfer requirements?

Very few people want Haith to stay, look at the attendance, the city of Tulsa has spoken. And before you say it, yes I know TV scheduling hurts as well, but think about it, was it this empty his 1st 2 years? No, now it's because of the product

Attendance right now is bc the city of Tulsa is LAZY..I can assure you people aren't sitting around protesting Haith or trying to make a point. Do we REALLY need to cover this again? Very few coaches in here would bring the fans out in droves at this point. Times have just changed.

You need to start a private chat with tugrad06, bigzit, originaltulsafan, and pokenmike... that way you can all just talk non-stop trash on TU to your hearts desire.

But the people of Wichita Kansas are just sooooooo much less "lazy". Them selling out a 10k seat arena couldn't be due to the fact that they're winning at a high clip and paying their coach a big boy salary to do so.

Have you talked to people from Wichita? They are so much more proud of their city that people from Tulsa are... plus having Charles Koch doesn’t hurt.

Not trash talking TU, I love TU and want it to succeed, there is a difference between trashing a university and wanting a change so it can compete at a high level.

I will agree that Tulsa can be a fickle place for sports teams, that is why it is CRUCIAL to compete at a high level or we will start to only have 500-1500 people show up for a game. Don't you remember when Shaq and Juice were juniors and seniors? The gym was not sold out, but we had a very respectable crowd. Now it's laughable because we get beat by teams like Lamar at home.

Yeah Wichita isn’t a great example because they support Wichita St as their university. Most Tulsans think of Tulsa (the school) as snobs. A more accurate comparison would be SMU or TCU.

Both struggle with attendance unless they have a huge name and winning massively.

If we hire a Larry Brown like name or are ranked in the Top 25 we’ll fill up the arena.

This is accurate. TU,unfortunately, is not Tulsa’s team like one would assume. WSU is Wichita’s team through and through.
