To the current set?
Everyone bet against RU next game and have Schiano tank the game … donate the winnings … Even the announcer is off his game and asleep saying that’s the end of the first half (it’s the end of the quarter).

Agreed. It's almost as if Schiano's NJ personality mesmerizes them as one of their own. How they look beyond his years of mediocrity and many abject failures is incomprehensible. It's a high level inferiority complex that manifests as misplaced confidence in this coach's inept style.
Well it's not like he never did anything but ultimately the level of achievement does not match the devotion and did not justify a rehire with an 8 year contract, or the depthless confidence in him.

Nothing will change their minds, ever. I saw this the first time with Schiano. It's a cult around a coach who never once won a conference let alone more. Only Rutgers has such desperate fans.
I got attacked in another thread early this week where I simply suggested Indiana can score some points (scored 33 last week) and that it wouldn't be a walk in the park plus Schiano starting our 0-4 in conference would not be good

Absolutely. It just seems so unlikely right now... and hopeless.
Yea, I’m just a matter of fact about stuff. If we win I’m happy if we lose or don’t look great it sucks but there are other games on and the funny comments and quips in this thread give me a chuckle.

I’m getting older so I try to not to get too emotional and find the fun where ever I can.

That is an interesting point.
I love NJ but it wasn't until I left and saw the world with the military and beyond that I realized how insular & close-minded NJ natives can be (it's very similar to New England) without being self-aware about it. It's pervasive in NJ politics, culture and sports attitudes. Many Rutgers fans subconsciously don't feel like this program deserves or will even be capable of consistent top 25 finished, so they take what they can get and conflate this with incremental success.

Same here. 40ish years. I've had enough of taking this seriously anymore.

Exactly and I've come to some of the same conclusions. I've never understood "NJ Pride". Wha??!!
