Chris Gotterup tees off in the first leg of the Korn Ferry Playoffs tomorrow at 10:14 our time. Don't know if the same format as the FedEx.

Agree that the St Jude leaderboard was uninspiring. Zalatoris vs Sepp Straka at the end is not much of a showcase.

I watched the US Womens Amateur this weekend. 17 year old Saki Baba from Japan blew away the field in match play to win. She won the 36 hole final match 11 and 10 after winning easily in previous matches.

US Mens Amateur at Ridgewood CC is now in the round of 32 in match play. Anyone who has played or walked Ridgewood CC knows what a great challenge it is. Some great young amateurs in the field. I enjoy watching these amateur championships.

Ridgewood is a great course. NJ really has some nice tracks, granted most are in the northern part of the state other than a handful down South such as Pine Valley, Atlantic City CC, Galloway........ the work the Union League did to the old Sand Barrens is impressive.

I love Twisted Dunes in South Jersey as well. Reminds me as a cross between Ballyowen and Wild Turkey. I am fortunate enough to get to play Ridgewood every year. Love that course. No matter what 9 hole combo we play. Can't beat East-West, but Center has some great holes like the 5 & Dime.

Zalatoris getting his first win in the playoffs was great. The guy is a star. He had a great year with a lot of chances to win.

I've played Twisted Dune, Seaview - Bay, and Blue Heron in So Jersey. Really liked and did ok at TD. Seaview ate my lunch...twice. Blue Heron was ok.

In the Women's Am, one of the fav's was a 13 year old from China. She was upset in the Round of 32. There was a rising HS Senior from Basking Ridge who I believe made it to the Round of 16 and Megha Ganne from Holmdel who had the lead at last years' Open and is heading to the outstanding team at Stanford. And of course RU's Leigha Devine.

You a LIV Lover lol? You like golf exhibitions where there's nothing on the line? You like the Spring game over the games that count?

IMO, there are a number of likeable personalities and great golfers on the Tour. Will, Scheffler, Rory, Finau, Fitzpatrick, Thomas, and Spieth to name a few.

A colleague of mine (former journeyman on some lower tours) has a friend playing in the US men‘s Am at Ridgewood this week. He took out the #2 seed 3&2 today. Fun to watch.

I know you don’t follow golf closely. He was ranked 14th before he won St Jude. He finished T6, 2, T2 and T28 in the four majors.
Being a star isn't solely about winning (or for him, coming close). Being a star means people stop and watch you. Sorry, Will Z is meh.

I like Will and was happy he won but that win pretty much describes his career. Been close in the past but never won. In the playoff's it was like both were trying to lose the tournament. Not sure what Will was thinking when he considered playing the ball on the par 3/last playoff hole. I saw a video on Monday of someone trying to hit the shot and it went back into the water as expected. Maybe this win gives him the confidence to win the Fed Ex Cup.

Straka handed the Win to Zalatoris on the last hole. Even hit it into the bunker from the drop area after dunking his tee shot. He probably made a 6 on the par 3.

Yes, he handed it to him on the 3rd playoff hole. LOL
I assume you did not watch the playoff real time. It was essentially match play where both were horrible and clutch when needed until Straka gave it away at the par 3. First in the water and then in the bunker. Not the finest of golf for both of them. Pressure must have affected both.

He pushed him to the 3rd playoff hole. Nothing was given. He had a bad hole and lost. That’s golf.

Do you know how FBI and the Justice Dept. knew about the nuke secrets Trump had at Mar-A-Lago?
It has to do with Saudi and LIV Golf.

LIV made a deal with Trump to get him to host LIV at his golf courses. Trump did that since the big pay day was going to come from the nuke secrets.
I think Kushner had to be involved to get a jail free card. He is now untouchable by the Feds.

The Biden visit to Saudi Arabia had nothing to do with the oil. It had to do with Saudi and US security.
MBS lives and gets to rule. Saudi gets US security from Iran threat. In return, MBS hands over Trump on a silver platter. Kushner can point the FBI to the safe where the nuke secrets are kept.

Biden's visit to Saudi Arabia was all a pretense to fool the media and us.
Biden executed "The Art of the Deal" to perfection.

Winners: Biden, MBS, Kushner, Dems.
Losers: Trump, LIV, Republicans.

This is what I think makes a lot of sense knowing how Trump, Saudis and MBS work.

Until there is a book by Bob Woodward, we may never know.
Huh - you do know the nuclear codes change every 2 minutes. lmao

Get off the MSNBC - Biden went Saudi Arabia to beg them to open up oil production to lessen Gas prices cause Biden shutdown drilling in the USA. You dumbass Libtard!

OPEC increased production , though not as much as Biden wanted .
The Saudis are part of OPEC and have a say in increasing or decreasing production.
If Biden didn't try to get production increased, those like you would have whined about him not going to Saudi Arabia to try.
Personally I was against the visit.

But seems like prices are going down and our President was successful in having a energy policy to help that to happen.

As for the LIV tour , a ;lot of people don't support that tour because of the feeling it's just a form of sports-washing to help the Saudis get better PR because of being caught killing a journalist that put out uncomplimentary articles about that nation and how the Saudi government jails dissenters to their policies that deny basic freedoms
Just recently Salma al-Shehab, 34, was accused of ‘assisting those who seek to cause public unrest and destabilize civil and national security by following their Twitter accounts.
She was a student at a University in England that returned home for a visit and recived a 34 year sentence.
Her Twitter profile showed tweets about Covid burnout and pictures of her young children, Shehab sometimes retweeted tweets by Saudi dissidents living in exile, which called for the release of political prisoners in the kingdom. She seemed to support the case of Loujain al-Hathloul, a prominent Saudi feminist activist who was previously imprisoned, is alleged to have been tortured for supporting driving rights for women.
The case marks the latest example of how the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud is cracking down on how Saudis use social media to share opinions that he doesn't like.

So Biden going there might be opposed because of how that country jails those who question the way people's rights are denied there and the killing of a journalist with unfavorable views of that country.
But if that is your reason to dislike Biden's visit, you also should be looking at the LIV suspiciously as well.

If you don't really care about those things, it's just a sports issue between the PGA & LIV and the only thing you care about is what's best for the game of golf.
Picking sides just because of that

LOL. You called him a dumbass after basically echoing half truth oversimplified misinformation about drilling. Shut down? Drilling production is up in the US In 21 and 22. It had dropped in 2020, in part, because the pandemic led to greatly reduced demand. And that was decisions by private oil companies, not the government.

Biden’s actions related to drilling would have affected future oil drilling, future leases. That is, if most weren’t struck down by the courts anyway. And Saudi oil production can impact the price of oil regardlesss of what the US does or doesn’t do. We could have increased domestic production even more than we did and it STILL made sense to push the Saudis to up their production in hopes of driving down the price of oil.

There is plenty of stuff you can bash Biden for without making yourself look silly, misinformed and hypocritical.

We get these reports all the time and often it never happens. But my guess would be Smith, Scott and Leishman are part of the “five” if there really are five.

There was another report 7 were jumping so again, now it’s 5. So at this point, who knows.
Who was reported that didn't sign?

Expect it to add 13 more in the near future( a few at a time), the sign-up money is hard to turn down.
Players are starting to feel, in my opinion, the LIV isn't going away and might as well grab the bucks before the tour has enough good players so they don't have to pay for signing on and just let the prize money be the incentive .

Heck , even if the LIV goes poof, the money will already be in the bank if get in before the fall.

It’s an interesting dynamic. LIV wants the top players but top players already earn good money. Guys who will take the money aren’t that attractive to LIV. How many Na and Perez do you need.

Schauffle was one.

But there have been rumors like “we hear three guys are leaving this week” and then nothing happened.

And how was Koepka a surprise? He hates playing the non-majors and seems more intent on his social presence and cashing checks. He wasn’t that surprising at all.

Koepka was a surprise for me. But made a lot of sense since LIV took his brother. Package deal.
