Delaware is NOT better than Cause.

So far, Delaware has won at Maine by 10, and at home against St. Francis by 17. We'd beat either of those teams by 50.

We'll be at least a 20 point favorite, likely more.

That said, if Delaware plays its best game and we play our worst, yes we could lose. Which is why the game never should have been scheduled. If we were so intent on scheduling a team from Delaware, it should have been Delaware State.

I would have enjoyed a matchup with UConn.

We are a 96% favorite over Delaware, according to ESPN.
From Saragin, we should win about 21 points.

Delaware has beaten Maine by 10 and St Francis today by 17.

Actually we’re the team that won’t beat itself. We are creating turnovers, not turning the ball over, and we are winning the field position battle. Yesterday showed that even when our offense can’t do much we can still beat a P5 team on the road by 10. Relatively speaking Delaware is pretty good but this game shouldn’t be close.

I think we’re underestimating our D. The tackling yesterday was superb. The DL held up against the run and got some pressure. DBs played really well too. UD might be able to generate some offense here and there, but I don’t see them doing much better than TU or SU were able to. I also think the TO margin continues as we’re committed to play smart, safe O and using Korsak. It might not be beautiful but something like 31-13 seems likely.

Schiano and the staff will have our team focused on going 1-0 this week. Games like JSU last night will make that task easier. It should be a comfortable 2nd half for Rutgers fans. Will Christie show up?

The Jacksonville St team that just beat FSU lost 31-0 to a UAB team that just lost 56-7 to Georgia with their second string QB.

What Delaware did in their games with Maine and St Francis is irrelevant. They are a solid FCS team in a era where FBS teams that don't have their **** together get beaten by much less than solid FCS teams.

However, I don't think Schiano will let RU take them lightly and our aggressive style of defense doesn't really allow that side of the ball to sleepwalk through a game.

I would have enjoyed a matchup with UConn.
UConn is a low level FCS team masquerading as an FBS Indy these days. Purdue Chicken, the worst B1G team most years, beat them 49-0. UConn vs Vandy might be the most unwatchable college football game all season in a few weeks.

Delaware was the #6 ranked FCS team going into yesterday. Their underwhelming performance against St. Francis PA will likely drop them. See RU as a 28 point favorite. We will cover.

Biden could have shown up to both the Delaware and Syracuse games.

I think a lot of RU fans on here are still suffering from post AshEra trauma … this isn’t the Ash RU anymore. Yes the offense has some bugs, particularly the O Line.
BUT
our defense is superb and so is special teams. Our tackling is as good as I’ve ever seen it in 10 years. We are +8 in turnovers through 2 games. We are 2-0 and beat the spread both times by more than a touchdown. Look at what is going on with so many supposedly “good” teams in the country right now. Have some perspective, we aren’t Alabama, but we have a darn good team and it’s ok to accept that and enjoy the season and understand football games will be close and we don’t have to be Alabama to have a good time. Stop being miserable !

Plus, I think HCGS learned from losing to New Hampshire….

Delaware was playing at home and beat Saint Francis 27-10. Admit it folks, how many of you have even heard of that school let alone knew they had a football team.

And Delaware is a better team than Jacksonville St…
Plus, it appears that the Florida St DB thought they were playing flag football…😂

FYI

UNH 35
Rutgers 24

This game was exactly 17 years ago today. We're a different Rutgers now and GS is a different coach.
Raise your hand if anyone thinks Delaware is going to score 35 points next Saturday.

Bueller?....Bueller?

This reason for playing Delaware …
“Big Ten schools play nine league games each year and now may face FCS foes the years in which they have four home and five away Big Ten games.”
This is an excellent (dated) article describing the arrangement of the Delaware game. It’s worth noting that that team from Pennsylvania has Delaware schedule for 2023 and 2027, that the all-time results of the series with Delaware are not lopsided, and Delaware’s last win over an FBS opponent was 2007.

This game I really think Aurich needs to go back to last years line and stick with it and stop playing musical chairs. The tinkering isn't working. Re-insert Felter for Paillant and switch Sutton to tackle and Bordner to guard. Let them work together this game and get the kinks out. Aurich keeps platooning the Oline we're going to be in serious trouble.
