It will be a mess. 1 positive case in you are out for 14 days.

With vaccine available around the corner it feels like waiting until March to start seems prudent......especially when you consider possibility of fans.

maybe March is optimistic. Faucci hopes April.

No full schedule games till Fall 2021. There will be too many cancelled games this season. Don't look for fans even if some games are played this Winter. Murphy just announced 10 person limit in houses....LOL

Vaccinate the players late December and start the season 1/15/21 and then have April madness.

Fall 2021 and then it’s going to be a cluster $&$? ... Who do they inoculate first after essential medical staff and those in nursing home facilities. Face the reality early discourse is already making this an angst thing for all. What we will see is more regulations and confusion.

Healthy 18-21 year olds are not exactly going to be first in line for the limited vaccine doses available in December.
Keep thinking this. Limited to those with connections in government . 18-21 year olds don’t need it but they are the primary carriers.if you live in NY state the leader there says after 2-3 months...Maybe?

The issue isn’t the virus. The issue is our reaction to it. One case shouldn’t shut down a 25 person operation.
The Rutgers president will not risk any threat to the reputation of the school by possibly having a larger spread occur. We’re you here in March thru June? He’s the guy who will decide. Not the state of NJ.

No matter who decides..I just think it’s ridiculous to shut down the whole operation with just 1 case.

I’ve said since the beginning, and you can agree or not. Our response to the virus is making things worse

I totally agree since I didn’t believe in the first massive shutdown nor do I believe a 2nd closing down will work for the long term. Sure it may bring the rate of spread down but until a wide proven vaccine is distributed to those who want it we will continue the same ride. The vast majority of people realize the shutdown ( instant gratification ) edict is a temporary stop gap . It has done irreparable harm to the country and world. You know after January or February there will most likely be shutdowns of business, schools and sports the same as back in the Spring. You know who says this ? ... Can’t wait until the pro shutdown folks reply.🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓

Any vaccine isn't going to college kids until 6-12 months after its release. First responders and those in the highest risk categories (age, medical issues) will receive the initial doses made available.

What does shutdown have to do with waiting a few extra months to play college basketball. Especially since there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

“ Where is this light at the end of the tunnel? “ Don’t see much light on this topic so please explain your reasoning. You think 2-3 months is a fair assessment ? Actual Herd immunity won’t take effect until the Fall of 2021 if the vaccine works at 90% is released by February - March. too much governmental oversight could delay this much further down the road. Wear that mask 😷

There will be 3 to 4 vaccines approved and ready to go by January. Anyone who wants by April shouldn’t have an issue.

You are not very observant these vaccine / vaccines still have to be cleared in order to be distributed to the general public. You are placing much too much confidence in our political leaders. Even if the vaccine was out by March -April 2021( best case scenario ) and you were able to inoculate 1-2 million US citizens daily .We would need 5-6 months to do everyone. Now not everyone will get the vaccine so maybe the herd immunity would take effect by Fall 2021. We are placing too much faith in our political shills.

Order of vaccinations..... Political people, military, first responders, teachers, minorities since they are more prone, rest of population. Not distributed till June 2021. No concerts, sporting events till maybe Fall of 2021.

Pushing back to 11/25 was dumb. The hardest thing to do is start. Once the games are going then every league is able to adapt. There will be cancellations but everyone knows that. There's going to be a lot of pressure to postpone the season as cases rise these next two weeks. If the season had started as scheduled on the 10th, well, it's a lot easier to delay something that hasn't started than stop something that has.

Could have started much sooner than that... probably October but people are short sighted even those brilliant educated leaders in all the conferences.

Yeah good luck with that edict. I would be ok with that as long as the politicians in NJ adhered to that but they won’t ... the man did the exact opposite of what he told the state’s citizens to do wearing a mask in a restaurant.
