That was a horrible half of basketball we just played. We are being manhandled and we need a strength coach. We are very weak physically and mentally.

Terrible performance. Lack of preparation. Also a ton of lazy passes. Pikiell needs to fire these guys up.

Sadly,Rutgers playing road games is a
nightmare to watch.Horrendous ball handling and poor defensive rebounding has allowed a mediocre Pitt team to dominate the first half.A four minute scoring drought is just another indicator of the lack of go to scorers on the court.

Everyone calm the $&@“ down. Horrible first half no one will argue that. Come out hitting some shots and this whole thing can turn around in a hurry.

We're seeing the exact same problems we had against Bryant pop up here. It's perfectly acceptable to be upset with how those problems have not been fixed.

Turnovers have been mostly due to lazy or quick passes. That leads to more opportunities for Pitt. Cut down on those and run the offense (No 3 pt shooting) and we're back in it.
Agree, and also agree with Bac that our scheduling didn’t prepare us for level of defense we’ll see in a game like this. Playing bad teams builds bad habits.

All that said, we’re not out of it. But need to be stronger with the ball and sharper with our cuts off the ball.

We aren’t a good team.
Year 4 of the Pike era and "we aren't a good team".
Apparently we aren't getting to the Big Dance this season and based on recruiting I am not too optimistic next year either.
How many seasons does it take a new coach to get to the Tourney?
Hope that 100 million dollar training facility speeds things up!

it would make us tougher earlier on. I am a big believer that you learn more by playing tougher teams and you learn bad habits at home against butterfly state where you think you can just turn it at any moment

this half was exactly what I feared, a real team for the first time who plays tough defense and we struggle mightily in the half court.

that being said despite the negativity, they are only down 8 against a mediocre team, a good start to the 2nd half and this becomes a whole different ballgame but we need a big wakeup call in that lockerroom

My pov is its not who you play but how you play and practice. Its coaches job to demand execution and expect focus.
I continue to hold that our loose pre game just shoot around game prep that doesn't include crisp passing, cutting. And teamwork set the tone for just show up.

What kind if offense did uconn play when pike was a guard there?

I've seen 5 of 8 games so far and really disappointed we still don't run a real offense.

he hasn’t run one in four years. Why are people surprised now?

its going to be about taking care of the ball. Pitt is not a good shooting team. If you can continue to handle the rock we gonna be okay
