I didn't renew tickets and got a envelope within the past week asking for R Funds donations.... so no I don't think they get it. I was a 12 year season ticket holder.

I'll see if anything came in the mail later though.
Giving up tickets is deciding not to buy entertainment. Donating to the R Funds is about giving back to the University.

Two different things in my opinion.

as I stated in the winter, I didn’t renew my tickets this year. Today I got a package from Rutgers containing a game worn jersey and handwritten note asking to contact them if I ever need anything. Maybe somebody is starting to get it over there. Anyone else get one?

I’m really glad to hear they reached out to you in this way.

No but mom and apparently Rutgers always liked you best.

I'm gonna assume you were a decent sized donor to the school. They probably feel your loss a bit more than many others.

To a point yea. R Funds are connected to priority points though so there is not as much incentive for some.

I Take this as the opposite of getting it. They rewarded you for canceling tickets rather than rewarding you for continued support.

Only thing I received upon lowering my ticket count was an email from RFUND with this awful title in the subject line.

Support RFund! (Downgrades)

I guess all the renewals that lowered ticket counts were placed in the (downgrades) contact list. I suppose they should have deleted contact list title before sending out email.

I'm calling BS. I think you are trying to stir up the crazies.

Yea I didnt get ****. So if this is real then it was reserved for much higher level donors. A nice gesture but if thats the case they could have tiered it for all people. Dont something very modest foe the small fish and bigger things for the whales. That way at least they pretend to care about everyone, big and small. At the same time it is a bit of a mixed message.

I renewed so I received a different package so to speak... got a game worn athletic supporter. Thanked me personally for taking one for the team this upcoming season.

I didn’t renew but still got a sweet envelope filled with coupons to local businesses addressed to me under my old college nickname ‘Occupant’.

Typical RU fans, take a gesture that’s meant to keep a decent size donor happy and ***** about it
So curious since you are a decent size donor, what gets you back as a season tix holder? I don't mean fire coach and hire a big name, that's obvious...I mean if we go 5-7 and look decent on offense without crazy blow outs you back next year or no?

No because recruiting has been bad as well. If he could say “look, I won 5 games and my last three classes have been in top half of the conference”...but he can’t.
I don’t need a big name coach. I want prior HC that won someplace else. I’ve given many names over the years and all were realistic

I’m sure if the lowel level donors who dropped got a gift people would be coming on here mocking the athletic department somehow too.

Some people were just born to *****.

Have they asked you for feedback as to why you dropped? I’d love for the AD’s office to get info like this.
