Whenever he retires, we will never see the likes of this again.
Mahomes is so advanced for his age. Brady got away with that late pick. That would have been game over but he does it over and over and Bill gets a huge share of the credit as well. They always control the tempo and always have the right play called at the right time.Although Mahomes looks like the future.
Not good. What are the odds that he retires if the Pats win the SB?
Zero. I’d assume they’ve been honest with each other. Next season they draft a QB and he learns for two years. Brady will stay on to long but he has earned it.What are the odds that he retires if the Pats win the SB?
Mahomes has a high confidence level for a rookie. And he should.Mahomes is so advanced for his age. Brady got away with that late pick. About zero. Brady's dad has said that they're going to have to drag him away. What are the odds that he retires if the Pats win the SB?
Whenever he retires, we will never see the likes of this again.
he did seem a lot more emotional than he usually is, giddy like a kid and shouting out his wife. Doubt he'll retire thoughNot good.
This is depressing.
I appreciate the greatness of both (Brady & Bill) and the fact that the NFL may never see a pairing like this again but I'm so tired of them.
Is it me or do the Pats get every big call? Was there compelling evidence to overturn the muffed punt? Really? For me I couldn't tell one way or the other so the call should stand.
Mahomes has a high confidence level for a rookie. And he should.
Technically, the AFC East has been an embarrassment except for the 2 years of Rex's Jets and the year the Dolphins won the division in 2008, when Brady was out for the year.As great as Brady and belicheck and the team has been for 15 years (maybe the greatest dynasty in all of American sports) this is also an indictment on the weakness of the afc this whole time. Except for a decent ravens team, the manning colts at the end of their run, and the manning broncos, this confenrnce has been pathetic. And except for 2 years of the Rex jets, the afc east has been an embarrassment, allowing the pats to get the top 2 seeds way too many times in their run.
I agree.I don't have the hatred of the Pats, Brady, and Belichek that some do, but I would like to see the end of the dynasty. This is depressing.

IMO it was very clear he never touched the ball. The roughing the passer call was brutal...but there was also egregious DPI on that same play so it evened out. The pick play on the KC TD was one of (if not) the worst non-calls you will ever see. The WR looked like a pulling guard and didn’t even appear to try and disguise what he was doing.
Joe P,
Common, Joe, stop being so objective.IMO it was very clear he never touched the ball. The roughing the passer call was brutal...but there was also egregious DPI on that same play so it evened out. Joe P,
That's probably true. While Andy Reid is a near genius when it comes to QBs and offense, he's basically a choke coach. And the AFC West is a lot more competitive than the AFC East has been for the Patriots' nearly 2 decade reign of terror.Mahomes is very good but it is not likely he will have anywhere near the level of sustained team success that Brady has lead in New England. Not a bad night for Josh McDaniels either.
Agree about the pick play. Terrible non call.
Every team runs it and it seems that the League has to find a way to consistently call it.
But probably not since they want teams to run up video game type numbers and make sure all the Fantasy players keep tuning in.
It's hilarious that the Jets are mentioned as a reason for the AFC East being good!Technically, the AFC East has been an embarrassment except for the 2 years of Rex's Jets and the year the Dolphins won the division in 2008, when Brady was out for the year.
Mahomes' arm talent is off the charts. Some of the throws he made were ridiculous.

Some interesting points and can’t help but agree. None of the people in our group watching the game were/ are Pats fans but we were all absolutely stupefied on that one. My cousin (who’s a Dolphins fan) called it “the worst pick play I think I’ve ever seen; he just went and hit the defender like he wasn’t even trying to run a pattern. You had 4 officials all looking right at it. How doesn’t anyone call it?” I think your point might come into play here.
Joe P.
Going offside in that situation is bad enough, but lining up that way takes it up a level. Just can't do that at a critical point.Offside call lost it for KC. That was game over
Obviously a young dolphin fan because Schulas Dolphins with Duper and Clayton ran pick plays every possession
Show me an example as bad as last night in a title game.
Joe P.
Dan Shaugnessy is a fine Globe columnist and yesterday's column was about how the rest of America hates the Pats so us " Massholes need to unite."This is depressing.

That is hilarious. It should be pointed out that in one of those years, the Jets made the playoffs because the Colts and Bengals laid down like dogs at the end of the regular season. It's hilarious that the Jets are mentioned as a reason for the AFC East being good!
Again Pat's double teamed and engaged in illegal contact five yards down field. It is a play that could be called either way Sorry. Must be a Patriot fan if you can only see it as a Pick play. And as far as Duper and Clayton just watch any game Schula was kn rules committee and got away with a whole lot of things Muxh as Belichek does
Especially the AFC East. The Pats have had the easiest road to the playoffs of any team in the NFL as a whole for over a decade. To their credit they then step it up in the playoffs.
And I'll call Brady one of the greatest of all time, but not the greatest. The difference in coaches and surrounding cast make picking a single player as the best in anything virtually impossible. Query, what would Montana or Marino or Elway done with the Pats over the last 15 years? Better that Brady? I don't know, but I can't rule it out.
He is not even the GOAT Boston athlete.Whenever he retires, we will never see the likes of this again.
