Surprised by a lot of folks who have Gio ahead of Flacco. Why?

I would also vote for this order with Chatman a certain redshirt.

Very impressed by a number of Sit's throws, his arm strength and accuracy. He also made throws that one would expect from a true freshman with 1 spring under his belt. During the game I was surprised by Flacco's decision making. Just thought he made better decisions.

I’m good with JM’s decision. He is an experienced offensive/QB coach and I trust his judgement.

Even Sit was hard on himself (I like this kid a lot for his honest self-assessment):
"The way the scoring system worked, two picks equals 12 points for the defense," Sitkowski said sternly, gazing over the reporter scrum at nothing in particular. "If I don't throw those two picks, we win the scrimmage. It was 132-132, tie."

"Can't. we gotta win games here. "

"It was a tie, man," said Sitkowski, again leaving no room for interpretation as to his feelings on his own performance Saturday. "We gotta win. If we don;t win, that's all that matters. We gotta win."

I wanted Gio to wow us today to allow the younger QB's to grow into the role. The scripted scrimmage should have allowed Gio a place to shine. What he did show is that he is not any further along in his growth process than 4 other QB's that until last month never took a snap with the first string.

If I was the OC, I wouldn’t base it on the spring game. Show me the body of work.
OK. Let's say this was the final scrimmage before the season starts. Everything else was equal until today's scrimmage. Can you play this one?

I think we've seen peak Gio at this point. Many props to him for stabilizing our team as a leader after the dreadful 2016 year, but I don't think he's going to be the one to take us to the next level.

Sitkowski is the Big 10 QB we need.

Flacco ? You must be kidding. He is 4th on the depth chart.

Not kidding. The question was "after today". I have not seen anything else. That was the exercise--"after today." Flacco had the cleanest and most complete game.

Now, it is apparent from Ash's presser that Flacco is not in the mix. But if today was a snapshot of a progress report, Gio and Lewis would be behind Flacco. Of course, there is more to it, and I am not privy to that information.

The good news is that most everyone has Sitkowski at or near the top. This means that for the first time in several years we may have a clear number one starter at quarterback.

Maybe its too much Tecmo Bowl, but gimmie a guy that can heave and connect on 2-3 60 yarders a game, and I’ll live with everything else. Art is that guy.

If up to me, Gio absolutely, positively must start ...

For Tennessee Tech?

Nice guy; good teammate, but time for us to move on. Like to see him start somewhere though.

1. Art - the future of Rutgers Football
2. Flacco — looks like a seasoned, steady no. 2 to back up a freshman star in the making
3. Lewis if he stays or else Nittolo
4. Chatman redshirts, if possible.

Problem is if Artur starts and doesn’t produce right away, people will be hammering for Flacco - “he’s experienced, 2 years playing, he looked great in the spring game, makes good decisions, can scramble” etc and then if they go to him then it kills sit’s confidence and his is the QB of the future here. Other problem is then if instead they go to Gio if again they start Sit and he doesn’t produce, then you’ll have the Flacco fan club like the Rettig fan club, and the Lewis fan club, why don’t they put him in etc etc. So while my heart says Artur, my brain tells me Flacco or Gio, maybe put in Gio and if we score 0 against Ohio State for the 3rd time in a row then you give Flacco a shot against buffasas

Art made some really nice throws but he also forced several passes that should have been intercepted. For a mobile QB, Lewis has terrible accuracy on the move. Gio just isn't the answer. Flacco ran well and can make safe throw but doesn't seem to stretch the field. Chatman needs a redshirt to hopefully build some arm strength although he does throw deep balls well.

Having said that I think Art will be the guy once they clean up his decision making.

Just the numbers. I am excited we have multiple talents at QB for once
Sitkowski 11-of-24 for 280yds, 3TDs & 2INTs
Giovanni 9-of-19 for 87yds
Flacco 8-of-10 for 73yds & 1INT

and while we are at it(incomplete fun stats)
RB Mordecai Carthy 1 rush for 93yds & 1TD(just a fun stat)

WR Bo Melton 5 rec. for 187yds & 3TDs

TE Nakia Griffin-Stewart 6 rec. for 61yds

Art is the clear 1 after today. They might not say it but it is overrrr. No other QB looked in the same universe throwing the ball. Touch. Zip. Bubble screens. Deep balls. Corner route. Out routes. Watching Gio throw compared to him is an absolute joke. Thanks Gio for your heart and gut but the talent gap massive there. Art also showed the best poise and footwork. Scanned the field and seemed to have the best command of the offense. A couple bad decisions from a kid who is still supposed to be in HS. Couldn't have asked for a better performance.

The only other QB and to impress was Flacco running it but that is not what the Rutgers offense is going to be under McNulty. Maybe a package or trick play but I think the coaches would rather see Lewis get those looks. Second best QB on the day but he's still likely down the depth chart

Gio really has no reason to see any okaying time this year. He's not the best option now and will graduate so he's not in the future plans. Any time he is on the field is a mistake wasting valuable snaps for the QBs of the future. He's hopefully getting these looks now out of respect and making the young guys earn it but it would be a horrible coaching mistake to see him start this season.

The Bo factor. He is a different player and we are a different offense when Art is on the field. We need his big play ability and he needs Art to get him the ball where the other QBs can't. Bo is a game changer but only with Art on the field. The chemistry there is already clearly showing which is huge. This should be a factor in the decision

Dial it down a few notches on the Gio insults. The guy won a few games and took some big hits. He does not deserve insults from an internet expert and keyboard warrior.

Peope really need to stop talking about Lewis as some dual threat compared to Artur. If you watched Artur’s scramble for a TD you’d realize he’s faster than Lewis. He can run more than well enough to keep teams honest.

Everyone should dial in back on Art. He is not ready.......yet. The only thing I learned from this game is Bo knows football.

Edit: forgot to add that Wilks is a beast.
