Not opposed to a grad transfer to spell out until a good 2019 pg is available. Right now, if you are a coach in this position you may rush and make a decision you may not be comfortable with.

Lots of internships available in NYC for a grad transfer.

3. Some of you on this board need to own up that this was coming. You really shouldn't be surprised. The signs were there and you mocked some of us who were more realistic about the situation than you were.

The first thing I thought of was, does Strickland think twice about his picking Wisconsin. He would get major minutes at RU.

Some nice pieces coming in plus further development from Geo and Eugene, for starters. Plus Kiss and Johnson now eligible. A little early for gloom and doom. Corey Sanders is a reprise of Quincy Douby, who after his freshman and soph seasons, was supposed to be seriously considering transferring to Louisville, and finally left after his junior year to try the NBA.

Look at the vast number of underclassmen that have opted to leave early--not all of them come from schools that can immediately reload.
That's life, though we can maybe expect the end of One and Done now. If memory serves, the players association was unhappy with the huge contracts offered the best HS players--like Kobe and LeBron--which took away money that could have been spent on current NBA players' salaries. So--no more jumping direct from HS to the pros. Hello, One and Done. Now, Goodbye One and Done? Hello, jumping from HS to pros again?

Quincy does quite well...however he is the exception not the rule.

If Sanders ends up in Europe, his best hope is for 40-50k, unless he's got the best agent in the world. Most rookies play for about half that, depending on how bad a living situation the country provides and the level of play he steps in to.

For example, CJ Gettys made less than 25k base salary in England last season

yeah but those salaries are post-tax I believe? Corey is definitely more talented than some of the trash that NBA teams, especially the Mavs and Kings, put onto the court each night.

Interesting the only coach he thanked was Shoes. No thanks to Pike or any other staff member. Very telling, imo.

Wish Corey the best as a pro. Glad he chose RU, but it was time.

He might be more athletic but the NBA is a shooter's league right now.

To me there’s s difference, but don’t wanna make this a bigger deal, so I’ll just stop.

Again, wish Corey the best of luck and thank him for choosing Rutgers at a tough time. Truly think this move is best for RU, though.

Probably the best move for him in my opinion. If he is serious about this then it is the right decision to focus 100% on basketball from here on out. He doesnt owe us anything. For three years we couldnt support him with any shooters or bigs that can set an actual screen and roll to the basket... His numbers, efficiency, and in turn draft status suffered exponentially because of this... He has a 44 inch vert and if im not mistaken beat John Wall’s combine shuttle time by .3 seconds. He is one of the best shot creators in the nation (not exaggerating) when it is inside the 3 point line. I truly believe he can latch on to an NBA team. For a minute there, he made Rutgers Basketball really fun again. Thank you Corey.

I would truly feel bad for him if Corey’s decision had any affect on his college decision. Glad it didnt. Cant make life decisions off things like that

Also have to wonder if Strickland’s decision not to come here made Corey’s decision not to come back easier?

Doubt either had an effect on the other...however.

For all we know, he could have been told that Corey was leaving. If this really would have changed his decision, he has not signed anything and could flip to RU.

I watched all your mixtapes before you got here. Still couldn't believe you ended up a Loyal Son. Good luck Corey. Hope one day you don't have to chase the dream and are instead, living it.

What current NBA 2G siting on a bench anywhere would lose his job to Corey Sanders? I just don't see it. His nice college game has minimal application in the NBA.

Not sure how much they pay now, but my friend averaged $125K a year tax free his first 3 years in the Euro League. But that was 10 years ago. Another friend made about $500 a week in Portugual.

Not sure another season would have helped him, but it sure would have helped RU. He went out on a relatively high note.

Agree, except for thanking him for doing the best he could while at Rutgers and some memorial games he played as a member of the Scarlet Knights MBB team that thrilled Rutgers fans and that his competitiveness will be missed .
