Ash wants to keep it a one score game going into the 4th.

It's fine.

We pissed our red zone chances away.

That's not on Ash.

looks the like the floodgates are going to open in the second half...PSU scored way too easily those two drives.

Field position really hurt the end of the half.

Rutgers is doing good against the run and running pretty well themselves. Not shockingly, just no passing game to speak of is the difference.

stop just being stop just being satisfied with being closed, this is a winnable game based on what most people here are watching.
What I think has no bearing on the game and yes, I'm quite happy with the first half. We're still in this game and could easily be tied if we had made a couple of more plays. I prefer to see it as our coaching is keeping this close against a much more talented team, rather than whining about the coaching holding the team back. If you can't see the improvement vs. last year, I don't know what to tell you.

Regroup and go for it in the second half. PSU has 3 times outs... you guys wanting to "go for it" are thinking like fans instead of coaches. You dont want to risk going 21-6. at the half. Regroup is the right decision.

When KO goes out of bounds I believe you can make them rekick from five yards back. With our offense we are not scoring with 113 left. Give Grant another chance. You have to have this option or at end of game with only a few seconds left why would anyone kick deep. Maybe this is not a college rule. Any info on that ?

I'm usually pissed that they would run out the clock but we are not built for quick scoring plays and any mistakes would be a killer to go into halftime more than 8 down

I'm no quarterback guru, but it looks like he's just flicking the ball out there. Not stepping into the throw, feet flying around all over the place, etc. He's a good scrambler, but he's got to fiind the open receivers on the scramble.

Our offense isn't strong enough or quick enough generally to go hurry up and move the chains, especially without the backstop of field position in case anything goes wrong or we go 3 and out.

Like I said no hard and fast rule, all depends on the situation and you pick your spots. To me this wasn't one of them. We're within a score and leave it at that for now.

Old Grant yes, today Grant no. He looks tentative out there today. Usually he's one cut and gone, today he seems to be hesitating. Smart to go into the half as is. They had all the momentum at that point. Just don't do something stupid get into the half.

Bunch of complainers here. I would have signed up for 14-6 at half no questions asked. What I think is even funnier is how our mostly "unstoried" program is hanging with one of the best, with a mash up secondary. We may still get blown out, but people at the very least will stop calling us "rutger."

This will start to raise some eyebrows.

Still an entire half left in this game.

Plus that is an interception waiting to happen. And Psu punches it in again of that happens. I'm good with this and get organized at the half

AND??? Not trying to get at least a FG there is absolutely 100% unacceptable. A football team (coach) that wants to win, and doesn’t just want to not lose, sees that as an opportunity to take the lead in 2 possessions ....

Laugh at the play not to lose nonsense. Every team plays not to lose.

A minute plus on your 35 with no passing game and PSU with all their TO's left? That could have been a disaster if Gio had turned the ball over.

Get in the locker room and regroup. RU is only down 1 score and they get the ball.

Still think one more shot with Grant is better than what I figured the offense would do. Just my opinion.

The difference in this game is QB play.

Gio has to step up and make a play with his arm.

He's a gamer, but he's just not enough to overcome all our other deficiencies.

Regroup to what? We basically gave them the best we have, and we’re still losing.

It was not the time nor the team to run the clock out against with 2 timeouts.

You still don't get this team's makeup do you? Or the talent disparity between the two teams. Let me enlighten you, the talent gap is vast. So they try and shorten the game, limit mistakes, get into the 4th within scoring distance. Then a couple bounces and boom you upset the 16th ranked team with 50th ranked talent. That's how Kill got it done at Minnesota and that's what we're employing this year.

Yeah yeah whatever. It’s just a boring strategy.

It is and I hate it but understand it. We don't have a gun slinger or talented WR's. What are ya going to do? You have to play to your strengths and a two minute offense doesn't suit those strengths.
