Hated the kill hire. He's not an OC.

Again though, they are getting most out of s bad team and a very inexperienced group. That's on Ash and staff.

You've got some balls praising Ash and co.

They don't look good at all. Ash is a deer in the headlights. Kill is a bad OC.

Kill is a very bad oc..but if u can't see the improvement in this team since last year..I don't know what to tell ya.
You're kidding right? We were one of the worst teams ever last year. There was no way to go but up. And we haven't gone up very far. We're probably going to win 1 or 2 games this year.

Not kidding at all. We were neck and neck with Nebraska...in Lincoln..all game.

How is that terrible..?? As you said we were one of the worst teams ever last year. In a year competing vs a decent team on the road is a BIG improvement.

Wearing us down. Key play of the game. Punt return. If he doesn't fire special teams coach...

I thought the key play was the drop before the punt
Wide open on second down (Dacoven Bailey IIRC) would have kept drive going
then we fail to get the first down on third down and punt
Give up the huge return. That thirty seconds of playing time totally changed the game.

I'd like a logical explanation how this is on Ash? Only gripe is no Lewis..

Such an improved team...and that's on Ash.

Our team is penalized a lot...often at inopportune times. That's coaching. Very Flood-esque. Missed tackles galore. 4th down run up the middle after you just got stuffed. There is more. All on the coaches.

Ash seems like your typical assistant coach from a big school who did well with good talent, and a HC who was able to make good decisions in game and inspire his team.

Ash may turn it around, but it will be a surprise if he does.

I wasn't looking at the record this year, but wanted to see a more complete team who has an identity and will to win and go for attitude.

This was a decimated Nebraska team. Sure, they still had more talent, but they were teetering. This game was there to be had. You can put some of the blame on the players, but not all. Lots to go around.

Ash just isn't inspiring. Even if he had talent he will play really close games against teams we shouldn't.

GS, without the bravado or inspiration.

This team stinks—improvement from rock bottom I guess is a measuring stick, but at this rate of improvement it might be 20 years before we make a bowl. This is not only a bad team, it’s putrid football to watch.

This team is much improved but unless the safe philosophy changes our ceiling will be fairly low. Safe works a lot when you have superior talent but there are MANY programs in our conference that will ALWAYS have superior talent to us. We will never beat those teams unless we develop a risk taking mentality as a fundamental part of our style. This is not the Big East.

And to think Ash mortgaged some future to bring in these one year transfers that will be gone next year, the future doesn't even look bright. He brought them in to win some games this year yet we lost to Eastern bleeping Michigan and the worst team Neb has put on the field in 30 years. Tell me where another W is going to come from ? Lovie's Illinois squad? I doubt it

Nebraska may only win 3-4 games. They're not good. But, I'll stay positive with the kids. They've played hard. Defense is exhausted.

Nor are we. But we are much better than last year is my point.
Much better than last year--absolutely. To be fair, it would be hard to be worse. But this game is troubling as it was ripe for the taking. Nebraska is a bad team and we blew it. Their coach will be gone by the end of the year.

That's my point. And next year we will be "much better" again. And be even more competitive.

Anyone who thought this was a 2 year fix is out of their minds.

the reason why the reason why we're better than last year's because we actually have an offense of coordinator that knows what he's doing. We still are not a good team and it looks like Nebraska is content to just let the clock wine down just by running the ball

Still waiting for that 1st misdirection or trick play. Maybe in week 5.

We are still the cure to anyone's ailments. A down team in disarray just schedule Rutgers. O and the blow job fest for Nebraska from this BTN crew is getting ridiculous.

I forgot to fire the announcers.

So that's Ash + Kill + BTN game announcers = FIRED

Did Ash get a Gatorade bath last week? I feel bad because if not, he'll never ever get one. He'll be gone after a 1-11 season and no one will hire him as a head coach again.

what we what we saw today was not a talent issue. This team is poorly coached. I'm surprised at how bad Nebraska really is

It is a talent issue. Rutgers is forced to play a lot of guys who have no business being on the field. You cant hide this many untalented players.

Winnable game but shows Ash is lacking and looking more and more like not the answer. How many more punt returns for TDs that absolutely kill us? Playing to keep it close rather than the win? Sure looks it.
