Worst case scenario

No one person is a Worst case scenario. If we start winning we will be fine and PSU will for the most part always be more than fine. A long history of success and a great stadium atmosphere are more against us than EJ Barthel

Yup. Even paterno coming back from the depths of hell would not change the balance of power here much.

still waiting for Ash answer hire to counter Partridge and now Barthel for boosting NJ in state recruiting...where the hire?
many other schools havent waited for official start date of additional coach and have hired the new guys now as 'advisors" allready into their programs.. example: http://www.knoxnews.com/story/sport...ee-hires-beard-wide-receivers-coach/98549926/

where's ASH NJ hire to help in state recruiting??..or recruiting overall..

Toal would be the guy if he still wants to coach.

Exactly WHAT did he accomplish here? I honestly can't recall a damn thing to be honest.

Was thinking this exact same thing.

Then I looked up his years of activity on the sidelines for us and just laughed. Some of you guys are just absolute clowns. This guy stood guard over Flood's final year of sub-par (and you know I'm being generous in using that term) recruiting.

I can't think of a better place for him to go than State Penn.

Tarik was so much better than Barthel, but hey, whatever fits the narrative. I'm actually surprised Penn State settled for mediocre - you can't be happy if you're a Nitter.

It is an admin position and he did pretty well at Temple. It not like he going to have a huge impact either way. If he was hired as the 10th on field coach then I would be worried. Most people believe Phil Galiano was hired for the 10th coach position.

So, of Flood and his assistants when he was fired:
Flood- Atlanta Falcons
DC Rossi- still not coaching?
OC McDaniel- Chicago Bears
Norries Wilson- -Rowing the Boat
Phil Galiano- Nits
Mitch Browning- Toronto
Campanile- BC
Panagos-Temple

Darrell Wilson-???
Jeremy Cole--???
Bob Fraser-???? Really surprised he was not picked up

How am I supposed to take you seriously or stop laughing at all for that matter with an opening sentence like that? Unless you were being sarcastic and I missed it.

Both were simply terrible but we had far more exposure to Tariq's brand of craparific.

IMHO - EJ did a good job in a tough position here, I always felt he was the one person Ash should have kept on staff...

was sorry to see him go, didn't like that he was at Temple (though can't blame him)... this kinda sucks......

Rossi> Gophers with another RU connection
Cole > row that barbell Gopher

I think PJ has 8 with Rutgers connections on his staff

Still think Fleck would have been a solid hire at RU along with his already estblished NJ recruiting ties,he has a personality that the media follows, which would have worked well for RU in this nyc/nj market and bigger the fact..he wins games..
EJ Barthel had the NJ connections for recruiting..just was hamstrung by the dud named Flood ..he got numerous local four stars onto campus but Flood was to busy going home by 5pm daily to close deals or to follow up on recruits.

The job of the recruiting coordinator is to COORDINATE.

You'll see. Don't say you weren't warned.

So you think Tariq didn't do his job while he was here? I guess it depends on what you think is the job of the recruiting coordinator. Build relationships, convince kids to come here - no, he didn't do that. Coordinate recruiting visits and recruiting events. Tariq did that very well. Barthel did not.
