You know, for a "World Series contender", the Mets kind of blow. One more loss to the Yanks tomorrow and your season is officially over.

No, even if they lose the season is def not officially over. The Yankees are meaningless in the grand scheme and the Mets have an easy schedule the rest of the way. Terrible loss tonight though argh

Looks like you'll be feeling like a dumbass again. Have you seen the rosters of the teams? The lineups tonight? Who's pitching? How can you predict a Yankees series win? You rly think that? Wow lmao

Well, it sure looks like he was right about the Yanks winning the series. I thought it would be 2 wins each....but I'll take #3 tomorrow.

BTW, Hansel Robles is awful funny.

Cespedes on the 15 Day DL. He played a round of golf yesterday afternoon. Maybe he should have rested and the Mets should have rested him. The team is the walking wounded right now, with no starter playing at 3B, SS, 1B, LF, and no solid catcher. Murph homered last night for the Nats. . . .

Who are "you guys?" I put the trolls on ignore -one who has a demented looking rat for an avatar and the other one who lost his girlfriend to Matt Harvey, and life is good. Would never consider the level of d-baggery they stoop to in a Yankee thread--would not even bother posting. Stay classy.

Good win. Should've swept those clowns, at least 3 of 4. Let em off the hook game 1. Tolo is unbelievable! And how bout the new guy with the difference making 3 run bombski

Was starting to worry about Bruce. Hope he can break out of the slump he was in with this home run being the start of a streak.

Pathetic series by both teams. Terry Collins' typical mismanagement of the bullpen, helped the Yanks in that game 1 win.

I'm surprised the Mets are only one game back of the 2nd WC, given how poorly they've played recently. I'm not sure they have enough offense to keep up with the Cards though.

I didn't realize how terrible the Yankees starting pitching is, until this series. They need five new starters. Someone posted they'd be back to the playoffs in three years. That's doubtful. It's going to take more than that just to rebuild the staff, let alone the oldest team in baseball.

Good effort by the JV team to tie the series 2-2. To summarize the modern "Subway Series" including 2000 WS:

Yankees series wins - 10
JV series wins - 3
Tied series - 8

Total Record = 66-46 (Yanks)

Well, I admire your optimism.
But both teams are hovering around .500...and they're playing four games....so I'm guessing 2 wins for each team. Neither team is going anywhere...so does it really matter ?

I'm right so often I sometimes amaze myself.
BTW, I can't recall the last time I saw two teams with pretty much nothing but .250 hitters.
Two mediocrities.

De Aza may be a good short term solution at CF. Made a few nice plays last night. If his bat could stay alive . . . Keep him in CF, and rotate Grandy, Bruce and Conforto as needed.

Surely you're not suggesting Bruce being something other than a full-time starter? On pace for over 30 hr's and well over 100 rbi's.
Only if Bruce wants to take a day to go golfing to rest his quad.
I guess I was suggesting rotate Bruce/Conforto/Grandy between LF and RF, but it seems Bruce is RF only, so the only rotation could be Conforto/Grandy, and Grandy does OK at CF, so it will be a three way rotation with Bruce having a lock on RF. Word is that Bruce is a liability in the outfield, but he makes up for it at the plate.

As far as calling the Mets the JV, Lol,so much for NOT listening to Fatsessa. That's his favorite tired line he uses whenever a Met caller gets under his skin.

To be honest, I wouldn't trade Colon for Tanaka. Yankees are poised to be the JV in NYC once again..
Funny how since the salary cap,the free spending Stankees can't string dominate years forever. The league is way more balanced cost wise. This reality hits the fan base hard,so the only thing left is to bash the Met fan base. I remember when I went from JV to my call up to Varsity. It was a sweet feeling.

Colon, 43, said he was surprised Alex Rodriguez was not in the starting lineup, considering he's batting .442 with eight home runs against him.
"I always say, 'That's my dad,'" Colon admitted after the game.

Typical mets fan. Delusional.
Calm down. You split four games with a Yankees team that has given up on the season and have only TWO more wins this year than they do. Your season will end the same day that the Yankees season ends.

All I know is that out of all of the Mets pitchers who were expected to dominate this year, its been the one pitcher who was expected not to do much who have been the most consistent: Bartolo Colon and his 10-6, 3.46 this year. Yeah he has had some rough outings, they all have. But its gotten to a point where when its his turn, you feel like the Mets have a chance to win. Despite when some here, and especially the two morning radio c**ts who are ALWAYS riding him because hes fat, old, washed up or any other reason that crawled up their arse, Colon usually comes up with a good start that keeps the Mets afloat .

He's also the only mets player with two families....I think.

Well. I AM pretty close to perfect...I try.
But I don't recall ever hearing about those guys having second families.
I think maybe Wade Boggs.

Anyway...

Its amazing that theres 2, 3 Yankee threads on here with Mets fan staying out of them. In fact the only time the Mets are brought up are by Yankee fans. But the Yankee fans sure love to troll their PED asses onto one Mets thread. They must be that insecure that they have to talk sh** for no reason. Just worry about your own team your miserable selves.

Time to move on to Detroit after going 2-2 vs the Yankees. Shouldve done better but didnt (the story of the year). Still time for the Mets to get that home WC game. Hopefully they can get their heads out their asses and start playing better.

FWIW, tonight it's Nimmo in left, de Aza in center, Bruce in right, Grandy DH.
