Gee, it would make Trump correct AGAIN and throw a lot of 'monkey wrenches' into a whole lot of politics. Would everything he signed or decreed become illegal and immediately reversed? WOW.

I'm not arguing that. All I'm saying is they proved the copy of the birth certificate was a forgery. They didn't prove he was/wasn't a US Citizen.So if he is a U.S. Citizen why forge the BC?

I have no basis for believing one way or the other. But he was an arrogant SOB to not produce the birth certificate when it became a question. Then when Trump started digging, the long form was produced. Did he not have the damned thing to offer or was it just a way to thumb his nose at the whole country? There are so few qualifications for the job, he should have been forced to produce before his name was placed on the state ballots. Going forward, everybody electing to run should be forced to offer proof of the qualifications specified in the Constitution at a minimum.

U.S. citizenship law gives the Mother the right to name her child a U.S. citizen, as long as she is. I'm not convinced Obama is not a U.S. citizen because I know his Mother was. I think the reason there is controversy with him is because he wasn't raised here. Cruz was.

There is no controversy ......this is pure crap. Unless he renounced his US citizenship, he is a US citizen. The whole controversy started because some interpret the Constitution to say that the President must be born in the U.S.
I know, and as I said I've never been one convinced he is NOT a U.S. citizen just because of his Mother. He didn't help the situation though by being so obstinate when questions about that BC first came up, and they only came up because as I said he wasn't raised here.
He should have just put the whole controversy to bed early by simply producing that original BC as soon as his citizenship was questioned or challenged. It was a legitimate question.
According to the evidence they presented in the presser, their position is its a forgery and presented evidence to back up that claim. I watched it yesterday while I was prepping dinner.
Should their evidence be dismissed? I don't know what the next steps would even be. Turn their evidence over to an independent investigator? Let it go?
Personally, I don't really care either way. Barry has been President for 8 years now. I believe he is a citizen and never gave any credence to the birther stuff.

Very true. However, He has present nothing that says he was born in this Country (i.e. IS a US citizen). This investigation seems to prove that his line of defense against those questioning his legality (including Trump who took a beating for his ;birthed' stance)has been shot down and leads to a conclusion that the initial skepticism has more legs than, maybe, originally thought. Produce REAL proof that he is really a citizen. More doubt arises.

The mistake he made, IMHO, is he lied when he was younger about being born in Africa as a means to gain a leg up. He helped create the controversy by being a Warren.

Totally different. The tax return is not a Constitutional requirement as is place of birth or via parent. And for a little honesty, neither of us KNOW that Obama is a US citizen. Had he produced the document when his opponent (Hillary) raised the question, it would have been no problem to most of the country. Clinton world may have remained in doubt and even demand proof that he was alive. That is Clinton.
As for Cruz, I had no problem, but if an opponent raised the question his legality, should have been a requirement. Further think everyone should offer proof of satisfying Constitutional requirements. If Cruz could not/would not produce proof, I would have been fine with his removal from ballot.
