Question for you. Do you actually support Trump because you believe in his plan or do you support him because he is in the lead?
Good thing you can't hear what he's saying to the guy ... it was very reminiscent of what he said about John McCain
Trump said POW's aren't heroes because they were caught. I'm sure his disrespect is double for a wounded soldier. Nugent crapped his pants to avoid the draft and Trump used money. That is a very far cry from what he said. I do not disagree. Being a POW is not required to be a hero. IMO, everyone who participated in WWll to defend our country was a hero. Some paid higher prices than others, but that does not create levels of heroism. They were all heroes.
Hopefully, you could not possibly read any part of my comments as being critical.
In my eyes, my step-father was definitely a hero. When asked what he did in the army, his response was that he drove a tank for Patton. On his second tour, he assumed he would be reassigned to a tank for Patton. Instead, he was given a motorcycle to carry messages BEHIND enemy lines. He was in jeopardy all his military life, but was never captured nor wounded. IMO, he was very much a hero for doing what he did and was lucky and skilled enough to successfully accomplish the mission assigned him.
I have kicked my *** many times for allowing him to go to his grave without getting his full story. As I sit here tonight, I realize I was very selfish growing up around him and never asking him to share his stories. He never volunteered to speak of his military. I overheard many stories when several neighbors and visiting relatives, all who served, sat around our kitchen table at the Christmas card game and drank the 7% beer an Uncle brought from Ohio. They would roar laughing at the funny tales. None were sad stories, but they all related to the funny tales as each had the floor. The hell of it is that that they each had a story to tell, but no one was interested enough to listen. Sad that was all lost as each one died.
I agree. What Trump said talking about McCain should be insulting to every American. No sense attempting to defend or rationalize his comments or behavior.
Exactly. Why vets are supporting Trump after what he said about McCain is beyond my understanding. That was complete and total disrespect to every veteran out there.

You might as well get used to the idea that Hillary is most likely not going to be the nominee, and if she is? She'll be doing it under the cloud of an indictment. You all need to get behind Bernie in a big way and figure out how to polish that old turd into a candidate people can get behind. As it currently stands, if Hillary is the nominee, the GOP is sleepwalking into the WhiteHouse.

Now if you folks want to argue that all who served without injury or capture fail to qualify as hero are going to be rejected. All who served were heroes.
I understand your desire to put a little dressing on it to slam Trump, but at least have some basis for your position.
Dog, either I am drunk, or you are. The last few posts you made directly did not connect, or were not intended to do so. Were you attempting to send me a message? Do you disagree with what I heard while listening to Luntz and Trump? I did not hear him say that McCain was not a hero as is being alleged here. If you heard different, please state so.
I cringed when he said what he said, and I did not near him say McCain anything about McCain not being a hero. Luntze pressed and I still did not hear him say that. There is no secrete that Trump does not see McCain as a good conservative Senator - and I agree. He wore the maverick hat too long and with too much pride for my taste. But Trump nor I said anything about his war record. I did not think his war record in and of itself qualified him to be President of US. That still should not be taken as anything negative about his hero war record.
If you have something to tell me, please speak openly. I think we can discuss any misunderstandings, but I cannot read between the lines if you are saying something that I am missing.

Let's be honest, unless you all somehow pull Biden off the rack, it's doubtful a Dem takes this one. The country is not going to vote someone who has been indicted for countless felonies to be President and a self proclaimed socialist isn't being voted in either. Against those two options we could run W again and win.

And the "you all" statement towards me is not accurate. I'm a registered Democrat, yes. But I've voted Republican several times. I just can't stand Trump or Cruz. Rubio......I could see voting for. And, I'm not a Hillary fan either. She's just the lesser of the two evils right now.
It is pretty obvious and easy to see Hillary's past that is questionable. What Repubs do you see as less qualified and force you to take Hillary as "lesser of two evils"? What has she ever succeeded at? What position did she improve enough to say that it was better because of her having been there? What is the fault you find with Repubs that makes either less qualified?
