the Jerry playbook is to give a ridiculous extension to one of their overrated players, beginning clamoring about "the bright future", which in turn gets mainstream sports media and their room temp IQ fans riled up that this is their year.
Maybe they can try to trade Herschel to the Vikings again? Then ask Jimmy to come back and draft studs.

Lotta mileage in a short amount of time. Not sure this is as big a move as some want to believe. Smart franchise though. They probably won’t use him as a 20+ carry per game kinda guy.

If I was the Vikings’ doofus GM I would unload JJ and his demands for draft capital.
They were trying to make cap space to re-sign Cousins. Signed a younger less expensive pass rusher to replace Hunter. I don’t have much faith in their GM but some of this was inevitable. JJ is replaceable too and he wants a max contract. See ya.
Of course it is, but who are they making room for? They need to clear the roster of good players for Jefferson?
