tOSU needs 1st round talent at QB (preferably elite at throwing and running) to beat Michigan AND to keep all of their elite receivers happy. It appears tOSU is going to land Cam Ward which could be 1st round level talent.

Same question. I watched almost NO OSU this year, other than half assed vs michigan. I thought McCord was a pretty good QB, no? Or was it because he had absolute studs to throw to?
They do have the best receivers in cfb. Not sure what he could do with ours

Ugh, what are we doing?
Due diligence. Nebraska fans want to ***** and moan because Rhule made a mistake taking Sims while also assembling his assistant coach and support staff, now someone's gonna ***** that they've been confirmed to be looking at multiple guys? LOLOL 😒

These 3 make total sense after doing a little reading. McCord and Howard are from Pennsylvania and we know this staff has tons of ties to PA including that DeMichel who I believe ran a qb academy there.

Shapen played qb at the same time as McGuire and was recruited by Rhule before he went to Carolina.

McCord had the most to work with and played against good D.

Leavitt was on a team without a head coach and basically played against same D.

Shapen was on a team that flat out sucked and in a league that doesn't play D

lol. That’s how this works. Nebraska fans will always find something to ***** about unless we win a national title. And this will continue even if they grab one of the best qb’s in the portal. 3/4ths of the fans will hate whoever we get no matter what. And every time that guy sneezes wrong at NU, people will complain about how Rhule screwed up the entire process and we just needed to get “insert qb that went to elite program we never could have got”. Rinse and repeat. Totally predictable.

I would have McCord and Howard above Shapen. Not a fan of the inbred stuff with Baylor and Shapen's starting record is poor.
I hope I'm wrong but some of the talk on this thread sounds awfully familiar. We spend time nitpicking about this transfer or that transfer only to later find out Nebraska wasn't even in consideration.

It's not like Nebraska doesn't have talent at WR. But we would never know that since the current QBs spent most of their time throwing to the other team.

Not sure about “inbred stuff with Baylor”. It’s a whole different staff and Rhule didn’t even recruit the kid at Baylor.

But I agree in terms of wining next year, I like the other two better. Shapen does have two years of eligibility though.

If he was here for spring one would think he could compete for the job.

Oh, I definitely think he could start. But I don't think he would start if we brought in a good guy with experience.

My gut tells me we get Leavitt and miss on the others. Sims leaves. Purdy leaves in the spring. Haarberg stays and becomes Taysom Hill 2.0. DK is an early enrollee and gets here in the spring.

I could also see us getting the Baylor guy and Leavitt. The thing with Leavitt is you have to really believe in him because he has 4 years of eligibility, same as DK if he didn't redshirt.

I think HH is locked in to this program.
I guess leavitt would be more of a gamble then. But i doubt he transfers to be a backup. We’ll see.
Want howard. Baylor kid scares me a tad, not sure why

I'm pretty sure Rhule is preferring a passer over a runner. McCord should be a no brainer for him

McCord was a 5 star who led OSU to 11-1. It's not that simple as wanting him.
And there's a reason OSU wanted to get rid of him. If we're not an attractive enough program to even get interest from Ohio State's leftovers, then we've already become a Northwestern type program.
