If this dude came from UNO and graduated from Northern Iowa, you would be questioning the hire, so quit trying to be such a homer and learn some business sense. In a couple of years, I will be willing to sit down and explain to you why it was a stupid hire. Hopefully I am wrong. The fact that he retained the clown of a coach should tell you how Trev's career will play out. The dude is a tool, and was back when I went to college with him. Nothing has, or will change with this guy. And no, he didn't bang my girlfriend. Ask ESPN what they thought of him. He had total control of the football program in year one and won 3 out of 12 games. So there is no place to go but up. Home-run hire all the way. Go Trev!
Why wait in a couple years.. We’re sitting down now, so explain to us why this was a bad hire since you knew him so well in college.🙄

What I don’t get is if he really knocked Ashley up, why is he suspended WITH PAY?
Maybe its in the contract? Could have negotiated it. And who do these people think they are dictating who we can and can't love? #twoconsentingadults, amiright jim1450?

Who would've thought we'd be talking about women's basketball and it would be the top news story? Not me.

Implying that Trev Alberts was in any way responsible for our terrible record last year is just plain dumb.

Not only is she removed from the roster, she's scrubbed from all of the Huskers.com stuff as far as I can tell. Weird stuff. IF anybody wonders why we collapsed in that PSU women's game, there's yer sign. Love followed Williams from USD, he's married and has 2 kids with his current wife. Huskers.com seems to credit him with recruiting some of our high profile recruits. Seems like Mr. Love has created a sh## storm. IF they've had a fling, I think people need to understand the dynamics of a women's college basketball team. It's not normal from the start.

Her social media links are still there on huskers.com

Her Instagram link is worth a look.

Trev, who was never qualified to be a big time AD, is an idiot and will be proven to be one in the next couple of years. Mess or not. By not firing Frost, he is on his way. He is a former Husker, so all is good in Nebraskahomerland. Give me a break. Live and learn I guess.
Agree to disagree with your opinion

Well, there probably has a process that needs to be gone through to avoid a lawsuit. Have no idea how contracts are written but she's not a minor.

So she's pregnant with a literal "Love Child"
sad for both of them in some ways. I hope it turns out okay for her. When you have a fairly young male coach traveling with a bunch of college women all over the country, I'm surprised this doesn't come to light more often. I guarantee you that this isn't an extremely unusual event. I hope it was worth it for him. He's probably going to be unemployable as a women's coach going forward and who knows what it will do to his marriage IF the rumors are true. It IS I suppose possible that his leave and her removal from the roster are not connected.....right?

We just left the game. The team played by far their best complete game of the season. Makes you wonder if the locker room knew this was going on already, and is glad to be rid of them both.

Or maybe they just played well.

Because university spokesman said it was for health and safety reasons. Code words for most female sports
That could also be mental health with the stress of the situation. I'm surprised if all this were true they would kick her off the team but still pay Love.

Who said she got knocked up? Could just be that they were having some connections and were caught.
I have no idea, but someone in the thread before me hinted at that. Could just be improper benefits or something and they are getting in front of something with the ncaa

He's a university employee and black. The university needs to be careful so they don't have aclu and blm suing their ***. It's that simple. Walk on egg shells. It wasn't with a minor which is to his benefit. There's a termination process that needs to be followed and right the u doesn't have good track record with firing staff without them being reinstated ( non sports related)

I don't see a scenario where this ends up good for Nebraska, or any of the parties involved. Just don't pile more bad decisions on to the ones apparently already made.

It is typical to "suspend with pay" until there is closure on accusations. I, unfortunealty, had to do it when I was an administrator.

It's a situation of property rights. In this case, the property rights are a job. If something was accused to have happened, the person is suspended with pay and if something is found, they are terminated. Until that finding, the person, under contract, is paid. They can't have "property rights" (terminated) without due process and that is very specific and detailed.

I admit I have no clue what their contracts look like but this is pretty standard procedure. Teachers who earn tenure have property rights.

Some school law attorney can come along and clarify this.

Do colleges have a talk every fall about birth control with their female athletes? Genuine question. I mean college kids have sex but the vast majority aren't on scholarship where a pregnancy could ruin that ride.

There are extreme cases I’m sure, but for the life of me, why would any girl want to get pregnant during college, too many options to prevent pregnancy are available to even remotely feel sorry for her scholarship/career.

In the threads blasting Iowa and Ferentz, I warned that it's not relegated to other schools....and like clockwork Nebraska's mascot is labeled as racist.

And in the threads blasting Michigan and Michigan State, I said the same thing....and like clockwork Nebraska has a sex scandal.

if this is two consenting adults, not much can be done about it, right? anyway sure doesn't look good though.

reminds me of a year I spent working in Lincoln.. everyone was banging everyone and I thought there is no way that town would be safe for a married couple.. too many temptations.

Wouldn't surprise me if they already do in a fashion. Campus medical clinic? Even without insurance, the pill is very cheap. I'd be surprised if there wasn't already some kind of program to help girls out with obtaining it.

I think the power dynamic, consensual as it may have been, is the issue

Yeah, a college coach banging a player is a no-no, regardless of age or consent.

Perhaps the team knew about it and decided they would not play unless both were removed from the situation.

Hope Chuck really enjoyed it. He was set to be a head coach soon. A very, very expensive and long-term mistake for two minutes of enjoyment. It’s two minutes, right?
If it was really "that" wouldn't he be fired ASAP, or suspended without pay?

Maybe she hit him?
