Frost Presser 11/1

He made a comment that a journalist questioned his job security after the first 6 losses. Said he doesn’t read up on those. Asked for 1 more year because he sees it turning.

kinda seems like last desperation for him. Clearly he reads the articles and even has previously made comments about rumors involving him. Next coach needs to be more mature to not even worry about what the journalists write.

If he gets one more year, he better tell AMart to look elsewhere or enjoy the bench. No way can a hot seat coach risk him at qb.

Frost is going to have to resign, because he's not getting fired this year. Sadly, it's easy to spin the narrow defeats in a glass half full mentality. I'm guessing that's what we'll be fed when the season is over and the vote of confidence is doled out to Frost and Co.

My favorite comment from today’s presser: “Theres no question, we are infinitely more talented today than we were in year 1 or Year 2.”

Our best offense was in year 1, we are not infinitely more talented now. Better depth? Sure.

Im really tired of this narrative from Frost that he inherited no talent. If that was the case, then your offense wouldn’t be worse now than it was the last 6 games of year 1 Scott

SF starts off his NU career with an 0-6 start. There is a reasonable chance he will finish his NU career losing 6 in a row.

Sandwiched between those 6 game losing streaks is having never won more than 2 games in a row. 2 games in a row? That's not even a winning streak.

When he says the #2 is looking good and he's excited to see how he does when he gets the opportunity, I say, why don't you just give him an opportunity?

So I should get my 2023 calendar ready?

Why would you think he isn’t getting fired if he finishes 3-9 and 15-29 beating nobody in 4 years?

Hey according to him before the season the QB room was good, no need for transfer. #2 QB should be getting a series every now and then so he can finally yank AM when he makes a bone head play.

I have this strange feeling that he gets one more year don’t know why I have it but I do
Really another year with Adrian and not another QB ready after that…

And if he has to get new assistant’s they want a 2 year contract hooked up to Frost..

Why prolong this agony..

I’d think they gotta fire him. So what if he manages 6 or 7 wins next year? Say in 2023 he wins 4 or 5. No one is gonna forgive him when he has another ****** year which is inevitable

I agree. Iowa State gave McCarney six years to turn them around from rock bottom to mediocre.

Frost is sounding like a mix between Pelini and Riley.
Really? Bo did not ask for more time, he let his resume speak.
Riley is honestly just a super nice dude and an average coach, sort of reminds me of the HS coach at the same school for 40 years.

Xactly, if we get boat raced this weekend nothing would surprise me. Run, block, tackle. We aren’t good at football fundamentally, that’s why we lose every game that is close. I’ve never seen a team that can play up to good competition just poorly enough to lose and play down to bad competition just poorly enough to lose. Either way, I am done. Sad for those that give so much and work so hard to have it squandered by bad coaches who also make bad decisions.

Yeah, Bo literally dared Eichorst to fire him after the Iowa game in 2013 lol.

He’s put himself in a pickle. i Think folks would understand if he just said I can’t do the job, I don’t want to further embarrass the University, respectfully I resign. I don’t want any further money.

What I don’t get is this idea that Frost could win or 6 or 7 games next year with an easier schedule. Why would he somehow start winning games he supposedly should?

This is his best and most talented roster and he can only manage 3 wins. What is suddenly going to change and fix everything if he stays? Even if you fire and change every single coach on the offensive side of the ball, it’s still Frost’s offense and he would still be running said offense.

The choice of words....did he really have to say 'infinitely'? Like how Alberts said he's 'extraordinary' proud of what Frost & his staff have done.

Exactly! It doesn’t matter who they bring in, it’ll still be ran by the boy wonder himself.

Fordham.....Buffalo.....Northwestern.....that's what the resume' looks like for
a $ 5,000.000.00 a year Head Coaching job?

The guy thinks he deserves another year?

Put that headline in the paper and see how many Frost defenders rush in to defend him about the "progress" of the program.

I thought this was a pretty straight forward press conference by Scott. He got a little slick when saying he addressed the team and then turned it over to the captains, when word was he didn't address the team at all, but other than that, he seemed fairly honest and straight forward about it all, including the tough questions.

He was also honest about getting Adrian his redemption moment. You can tell he is absolutely hooked on that, and still probably can't fully see that as his blind spot.

The one nuance I did get from that, is it sounded like he was talking about a 1 game, big win for Adrian.

It's hard to run with that pair of scissors in your hand, but a small part of me took that to mean he's giving Adrian the rest of the year to make that happen, and who knows.. does that mean he is looking to someone else next year?

With as hitched as Scott is to AM, maybe he realizes he has to unhitch, to get another year. Or maybe I'm reading too much in between the lines.

It feels like bargaining all over again, and if the rumors are true about 10 players hitting the portal, (and who knows what staff will stick around) I can't help but think he's run out of rope already and it's too late.

If he thinks he's getting another year, he needs to be recruiting a transfer QB now. He can't come back next year riding the AM train again and we don't have a better QB on the roster now.

Why would you feel bad for him? He will always be respected for what he did as a player. As a coach, he can go to bed at night knowing he gave it a shot in his million dollar bed in his million dollar mansion.

Just because someone was a great player doesn't mean they will make a great coach. Some of the best coaches in college football history didn't play at a ll or were not any good as a player.

There's no big win coming for Adrian M. Nebraska will lose to Ohio State by two touchdowns or more, the Wisconsin defense will piss pound that OL to the point where Adrian will be running for his life and making stupid choices, and Iowa will be Iowa.

Special teams has had their follies, offense and AM has had their follies, in a strange way it seems that the defense is about to have theirs in the final 3 games.

The biggest deal in this whole thing is people make it personal. I think that is why even I feel a little bad for the guy. He seemed like the perfect hire, knows how fickle the fan base is, etc. and didn't get it done. Because he didn't get it done people have to go to the lowest levels of attacks. Focus on his win-loss record and coaching faults. His personal life and past don't need to constantly need to be brought up.

Yeah, those guys are all liars. They read and listen to everything, they make fun of the articles and radio call in dorks, they rip on the fans. They probably even look at our stupid posts. I know I would.
