That's why I stated the post about if they lose tonight do they tank it the rest of the season. I'd sure like them to be successfulBecause tonight would be a great place to start...

Every night is a good night to watch Hogan’s HeroesLooks like I picked a good night to watch railroad Alaska and Hogan's heroes
Well, THAT’S true!Every night is a good night to watch Hogan’s Heroes
I think that is part of the problem. He figured out he has no shot at the NBA. I hope he's getting a masters degree so he can get a better job when he's done. The only guy playing minutes on this team right now that has any shot at playing in the NBA is Roby IMO. We've got better talent than we've had in a long time but Palmer is a late 2nd rounder at best. He just doesn't play with the intensity you have to have. What is the deal with Copeland? It's like he is sleep walking out there on both ends. He can kiss whatever shot he had at the NBA goodbye with this effort.
I don't know what he's trying to do to motivate some of his guys but it sure doesn't look like it's working.Pretty sure he has had zero influence on any Husker team he coached. Why he is still employed is a mystery to me?

One quote of his his first year I think was "My mom asked me why I yelled and swore at my team in practice. I told her because it worked". Maybe that approach doesn't work with college kids anymore? You might be able to get away with that at Southwest Minnesota State but I think the tendency is for that to wear off very quickly then all you're left with is a bunch of guys who hate your guts and tune you out.I’m completely baffled.
The Celts stopped mattering too when Bird and McHale retired.it's bball....it doesn't really matter, except for the celtics.![]()
you have a point there, I still would like to see them get it together thoughThe Celts stopped mattering too when Bird and McHale retired.
we had much bigger problems in our athletic department than Tim Miles 2 years ago and who knows NU could still go on a run this year. We've got a couple of guys who are sick and the starters played too many minutes tonight. PSU clearly was playing harder than us. Was that coaching or are there more of our guys battling that bug than Nana? I don't know. We'll see how things play out.Let the record show I have been saying Nebraska should fire Tim miles 2 years

Yeah. It was weird when their rivalry with the Lakers was renewed and they won a title in '08 and no one cared.
Yes, the difference was as noticeable as between black and white.
Bird was a phenomenal player but I had been a Celtics fan since the 60s when I used to watch them with my dad on Sundays. NBA basketball turned in to a wrestling match really during that Laker/Celtic Bird/Magic time period and it just lost me. Dr J was an artist but he would get clocked every time he tried to go to the hoop today.Yes, the difference was as noticeable as between black and white.
Relevant to me.Nothing will match the Bird era. I'm a lifelong Celtics fan that saw him play in person in the old Boston Garden.
But Dingle said that haven't been relevant since Bird. That's simply untrue and a ridiculous thing to say.

4 of 5 starters played at least 38 minutes and the 5th starter played 34 minutes. The bench (3 players) accounted for 13 minutes and one point. The opponent was Penn St. Seriously!?!?
Of course, all of the players aren't necessarily unmotivated. They're probably exhausted and it's tough to motivate when you only have 5 or 6 players on the roster.
The lack of a bench and a couple of big men is all on Miles' lack of recruiting. He's in his 6th or 7th year. What more proof do we need to be shown? Show his *** to the door!
Palmer is one of the issues. He's exhausted from taking so many shots and floating the perimeter waiting for his next shot. He plays defense only when it's convenient. He launches balls like it's a casual shoot around.
I like Roby. He acts like he gives a damn. The other guys act like they're waiting for the NBA to come calling. Good luck with that.

I fired MYSELF several time!!!To answer your question, the fans have fired every coach in every sport thousands of times by halftime (maybe even before that), but I don't think the AD has ever followed through. At least not publicly.
I'm guilty myself, by the way.
