Wow. Says a lot a about AM. Very matuare kid. Can’t wait to see what he can do with the keys he’s been given to this high performance sports car.

Frosty has had a couple of close controversies between qbs...one of them ended with a heisman winner, the other got oregon to within seconds of a national title. This is certainly good news for NU...being forced to play a qb who is not fit for his system just means that it is a short term solution. This might work on a team like alabama with a dominant defense, but we need to maximize our offense and AM gives by far the highest ceiling. True freshman are rarely great their first year so we need to brace ourselves for some rough seas ahead...I feel Frosty is o.k losing some games this year, maybe in nasty fashion to put ourselves in a much better situation for next year.

Haven't seen any fall practices but AM had the best Spring Game, Gebbia looked like a 3rd stringer.

Either way, expect some growing pains.

I think ultimately this is good news - neither QB has taken a snap in a game so they both would have growing pains - Martinez is the better runner and we will have to lean on running the football while the QB gets used to the speed of the game

My gut told me all along it was gonna be Martinez. Be just has things that youll never be able to coach Gebbia to have in size and speed. Having said that Gebbia needs to be ready GBR!

Gotta say I'm pretty surprised. I thought if they were neck-and-neck that Frost would name the older of the two the starter. Just for motivating the younger of the two, and maybe to minimize any discouragement to Gebbia.

Good luck to both of them. Hope to see Gebbia early in the game, and see them both compete like warriors.

I'm thrilled with the decision for a dual-threat qb. Crouch, Frazier, Gill, TMart, etc......it's our tradition and deeply in our DNA.

GBR!!

I think Frost went with the qb he feels he can win the most games with now, and that includes pulling Martinez if he's struggling.

Lol. Only one of those guys was a decent passer. Our DNA is running the ball b hind an elite line.

If nothing else it should be exciting. Gotta admit if he breaks off a 50 or 60 yard td run the crowd will lose their minds. Will be interesting to see how this goes throughout the season. How much both get used and if it leads to another competition next year. I thought they'd go with Gebbia but if they thought both were equal I can see them going with the guy that might fit their system better as a whole.

Congrats to Martinez, he beat out a solid QB In Gebbia. This is far from over with though...Gebbia will get his shot. When he does he needs to nail it out of the park. Either way, I said it all along, I’ll be happy with either one. It’s Martinez as of now and I’m excited for this season to get to rocking. Hoping this team can turn the corner quickly and keep us competing all season long. Fingers crossed.
