I predict he'll transfer to another Power 5 school. I don't think there's enough data on him to say he's anything other than the 4-star coming out of high school. He'll still have two years of eligibility to play somewhere.

Man, what a tough road. You've gotta respect a kid moving half-way across the country, sitting out two years, and then losing the coach that recruited you.
I almost wonder if he might have been better off sticking it out and grad transferring.
I was thinking the theory is that he would be 4 years in (after the year at FCS or DII) and have his degree, so he could be a grad transfer and play immediately.
He could go to another school without a scholarship and not be on the team. That would leave him with 2 years of elgibility....I think.

Or North Dakota State since Easton Stick is a Senior in 2018.

I thought about that one too, but I thought I heard once that NDSU doesn't take a lot of transfers. Might have been when I was watching a game and they talked about King Frazier being a rare transfer into their program. Of course that was just announcers so who knows if that is correct? I have no idea what they have behind Stick.

I give him a ton of credit for sticking it out through the off-season and spring and giving it his best shot. If I remember right, Frost left Stanford at semester break after a coaching change and subsequent announcement of opening up the qb competition.

I still think he could be a serviceable player for us in Frost's system, but it certainly appeared that he was 5th on the depth chart behind all of the other guys soooo the odds of him every playing barring a rash of injuries or transfers was very slim. He has to do what he thinks is in his best interest.

This had to be a real gut punch for him. Love the way he's handled it thus far and I hope he has tremendous success wherever he lands.

Another highly-ranked QB recruit that didn't last here. I know coaching changes had to do with POB and some others, but man we've had a lot QBs that didn't live up to the hype here.

Why should college be any different than the NFL? Of Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, Allen and Jackson I bet maybe only one or two of them will ever be starters for more than three years.

5 years to play 4, unless there is a medical hardship that allows a 6th year. He is going to have 2 years at DI regardless if he walks on or not.

Redshirt in 2016
played in 2017
sit out in 2018
play 2019
play 2020.

If he goes to an FCS or DII in 2018, he will have 3 years of eligibility left. If he graduates in 1 1/2 or 2 years, he could go to back to DI as a grad transfer.

Good luck, wish him well! It sucks when things like this happen with coaching changes. Same way I feel about our FBs.

He figures he is going to be sitting out anyway, best to transfer and maybe get 2 years solid playing. Good luck to him and I wish him well!

Best wishes to him and choice he's made. Curious whare he'll land.

I would not be surprised if he transferred to a very good program. He still seems like a good prospect for the right offense. I wouldn't be surprised to see him wind up at a PAC 12 school or in the SEC.

Must have seen the writing on the wall, Frost mentioned Tuesday they were going to start giving the top guys more reps and he must not have been one of them. Doesn't mean he's a bad QB, If I were in the market for a Pro Style QB I'd give him a call.

Is this a joke?
Why would that be a joke? What you getting at? One less QB in the fold, we will be looking for 2 QB’s at this point is my take. These kids look at all of the factors in their decision.

Feel sorry for the young man, always someone a step ahead of him. Hopefully he will find a spot that's right for him.

I seriously doubt he feels he was "screwed around". That seems like a weird thing to say.

Lol!

Pro system to Frost?

I admire the kid. He came to Nebraska in the first place under previous regimes that flat out stunk when it came to developing a functional system.

I still think you're in outer space on this one.

Riley always wanted a Pro Style system at Nebraska. Who the p&** is Lee?

It's like the devil. Nebraska will NEVER be a Pro Style system.

Can't recruit the necessary WR. Winds out of the north. See TO for an explanation. Jesus Christ

Will Patrick have to sit another year, or can he say that, because he was recruited to run a completely different offense he should be allowed to play? If he transfers to a school like
North Dakota State would he have to sit?
