First off I have an extremely mild case. I got my results today.

Day 1: Started Sunday when I felt a little off and took my temp that morning and it was a 99.7. Mild headache and my eye balls hurt which usually happens to me if I get sinus issues, but that's rare for me. I also developed a back and neck ache. I was a little congested too but not much. I actually had a 12hr drive coming back from my parent's house and didn't have a way to check my temp, but it was a miserable drive. Mainly the traffic sucked so that makes being sick worse when you just wanna get home and rest. When I got home it was midnight and I didn't own a thermometer and everyone was closed, so not sure what my temp was, but I was very warm. I felt like I was warmer than I was earlier in the day when I was a 99.7, but I'll never know. Took some Theraflu before going to bed.

Day 2 and Day 3: Achey back and neck, headache and eyes hurt. Dry cough but not continuous by any means. I Took these two days off work. I could have powered through, but I have the sick time, so might as well use it. Got a thermometer first thing in the morning and my temp was 98.8 and that's the highest it's been since. No fever.

Day 4: This is Wednesday. The body aches went away, but still had the dry cough that was intermittent. The headache was still there but not as bad. I went back to work. Eyes still hurt. I took an at home Covid test and sent back to lab (Pixel by Lab Corp). No fever.

Day 5: No aches but dry cough becomes more wet. Became more congested. Headache is largely gone, but eyes still hurt. I felt nauseous and dizzy at times later in the day and evening. No fever.

Day 6 (today): Woke up feeling great. I had a busy schedule with work this morning and made it through okay. I'm making a late morning omelet and all of a sudden I ask myself, "Shouldn't I be smelling this food?" My sense of smell is gone, but fortunately haven't lost my taste. I got my test results this afternoon, but after not being able to smell this morning, that all but confirmed it for me.

I'm feeling fine tonight. I'm laying low obviously. Throughout the pandemic I have taken Emergen-C packs every day and taken care of myself to keep my immune system strong. I wear my mask everywhere you're supposed to. I am socially distancing and not going out. I honestly don't know where I caught it. I think I was unlucky and caught it at a grocery store or gas pump, but I wash my hands and do not touch my face until I wash my hands EVERY TIME, so I dunno. This **** spreads freakishly easy. My temp has stayed between 97.5 and 98.7 since the morning of Day 2. I've been taking Theraflu a few times a day.

Happy to answer any more questions.

ETA: I'm working from home, not going into an office and have been since last March.

Exactly how mine went. It was the sinus headache that was the worst for me. I never really got a cough. Lost my sense of smell about the time the headache started going away and I was actually recovering. I actually discovered it when I started cooking bacon and smelled nothing. I never lost my sense of test. Additionally, it been two weeks since I tested negative and I can now smell some thing and not other things. It’s very odd.

I'm hoping my smell isn't gone that long. I can breath great, but strange to not smell anything. Almost like I'm breathing fresh clean air at the top of snow packed mountain. I'd much rather have my taste than smell if I had to choose. Hope I don't lose it.

Thanks for sharing your story.

Have you been trying to figure when or where you may have caught it? Any guesses?

To bad you couldn’t schedule that loss of smell for back when the football team was stinking. Seriously though, glad you’re handling it well.

What kind of work do you do?

Edit: I see now where you say you work from home.

As far as the gas pump goes - don't they say now that you can't really get it from touching contaminated surfaces, that it's airborne? Amazing how it spreads.

I tested positive the Monday before Christmas. My only symptoms were loss of smell and taste. Taste came back in about a week. Still barely have smell.

Yes. So when we drove up NYE, my son was complaining about a headache and felt warm. He had a 99.8 temp when we arrived at our destination. He took an ibuprofen and he felt great the rest of our trip and he never had an above avg temp again. To me I think that's where it could have come from. His mother (we are not together) told me they have been social distancing and haven't seen anyone. They went to a church service on 12/24, so it's possible he got it there. My son is 10.5yrs old. His mother's family is all fine no one is sick and she's married and two other kids and all fine. She almost seemed pissed that I even brought it up that my son may have been carrying it. My fiancé is also fine. She ordered a test today, but I don't see how she couldn't have gotten it. I last saw her Monday morning and she rode in the front seat with me on the long car ride Sunday. It's possible she's asymptomatic. She's taking her test tomorrow.

If I didn't get it from my son, then I was unlucky and picked it up at a grocery store or something, but again I wash my hands EVERYTIME I leave one of these places and before I touch my face.

Financial Advisor.

I was just saying gas pump bc I picked it up somewhere random if not from my son who had a low grade fever the first day of our trip, but everywhere at his mother's house (where he lives most of the time) is not sick.

I believe you are right about contracting it via surface transmission, but I'm not sure we really know to be sure.

I didn't read the article, but I saw a headline a day or two ago that implied that the loss of smell might be permanent. Anybody else see that? Can't remember where I saw it, but it was online.

Such a weird disease. It's like it has a menu of symptoms it picks and chooses from. My experience was: my business partner, whose office is next door to mine, tested positive on a Thursday and went home. The secretary I share with him and I were both tested that day and were negative.

That weekend I started feeling like I had a little cold, and by Monday it was like a really bad cold or a mild case of the flu - coughing, sneezing, runny nose, slight headache, low-grade temp and generally felt bad. I didn't want to go to work, but I did anyway, since my partner was quarantining at home and I felt like I needed to be there. Got tested again Mon morning and it was negative, so I came to work every day that week.

On Friday, my cold/flu symptoms eased up some, so I thought it was just a cold and I was getting over it. Felt better Saturday. Then on Sunday, lost ALL taste and smell, but still felt better. Went to work Mon morning to get tested again and was positive. Went home to quarantine.

Monday and Tuesday fatigue set in. Still didn't have any cold/flu symptoms, and really didn't feel that bad, but going to the kitchen and making a sandwich would wipe me out and I'd have to lie down for an hour. Wednesday that eased up, and by Friday I generally felt fine. Taste and smell gradually came back in the weirdest way - they would cut in and out. I could literally take one sip of coffee and taste it, and the next sip would be nothing. Over about a week they gradually cut out less and less.

So for me, it was about a 2-week process from start to finish. Once in my life I've had a super fly strain of the flu that almost made me welcome the icy embrace of death, and this was about 50% of that. My experience with COVID was about like what a doctor friend of mine said - I was plenty sick, but I've been sicker. Stay safe out there, errbody.

Hoping things continue to move in the right direction.

My wife and I haven't had it as far as I know, but that may change. I got the Pfizer vaccine 12/30, and my wife got the Moderna 12/31. For Pfizer, there's like 50% immunity after 7 days after the first dose and possibly less severe illness if you do get it. For Moderna is similar but takes more like two weeks. She was working with some ******** earlier this week at the hospital who kept taking his mask off around her and coughing while saying, "I don't have COVID." She had her regular mask on but not N95. Well, the guy gets tested, and he's positive. It's been a few days since the exposure, and she's getting tested tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed that it's negative, but she's started sniffling a bit over the last couple days -- she's a bit of a hypochondriac, so I'm hoping that's all it is, but we'll see. We're both early 30s and healthy, and we wear masks in public, etc. We're supposed to go to go to the beach in a few days, so I'm hoping it doesn't throw a wrench in that. And obviously don't want her to be sick.

They did for me. A day or so after I tested positive I got a call from the Mississippi Department of Health asking how I was doing and a checklist of questions - had I been out of state, been to any big gatherings, had anybody else in my family started experiencing symptoms, etc. (all no). Then they called back a few days later to ask how I was doing (i.e., see if I was still among the quick).

Here's the deal: The degree of severity of the covid 19 will depend on the health of the contracted person. It's actually common sense. You will probably make it through if you're relatively healthy. If not you will probably die.

On average, yeah. But a lot of perfectly healthy people are getting very sick and dying, and a lot of older, overweight diabetics are fine. You just never know with this virus. So be careful. We've still got another couple of really tough months ahead of us before this starts to get better.

34 here and have it. Only reason I tested is because my wife was positive. I’ve been fine. I had what I’d describe as vertigo for the better part of a day but that’s been it. I would say congestion but I have allergies year round that never go away.

Tested positive Dec 15th. Only tested because someone in office tested positive. Never had any symptoms (although did lose smell after a week post diagnosis). Have taken zinc daily approx 15 years and vit D over 10 years. Ride stationary bike approx 30 minutes usually-curtailed some recently due to mild torn lateral meniscus and was giving it a rest. Had just started back full 30 minutes. Stopped when diagnosed with covid...just because. After 2 weeks rode bike 15 minutes....no problems. Second day was gonna ride a little more and after 10 minutes was wore out....not winded but just weak. That and smell were only symptoms I experienced. I am 68.

Had the Regeneron infusion a week after diagnosis....my personal physician wanted me to have it due to age, Hx of by-pass surgery 11 year ago and on HBP med...as those can make one more susceptible to clotting issues later. (Saw where poster from Philly-age 35- may have succumbed to clot issue.)

Will never know if zinc and vit D were beneficial but better believe I will continue to use.

A lady that works for me had infusion also 3 days before me....think she may have been headed for major problems but got significantly better 2-3 days after infusion...and she is fine now.
A 21 year in office of was fairly sick for approx 3 days.

Funny how this thing works.

wife and i both tested positive two days before Christmas. I would describe mine (53) as a medium flu, with loss of taste and smell. Hers (42) has been somewhat worse. Like a bad flu, with loss of taste and smell. Neither of us has had bad pulmonary problems, outside of a little congestion we still cough up. We both wear masks, and are safe everywhere we go. I don't think its if you'll get it. I think it's just a matter of when you'll get it.

Exactly. I don’t think you can boil it down to if you’re healthy or not. I got it and only lost smell and taste. No respiratory issues at all. 5 days after testing positive I went on a 30 mile bike ride. But I had a co-worker who was in better shape than me and the same age get very sick and was hospitalized for several days. I’m sure one day we will find a link to why some people get deathly sick and some people barely have symptoms but right now we don’t know and I don’t believe it can be boiled down to if you’re young and healthy.

But a lot of perfectly healthy people are getting very sick and dying, and a lot of older, overweight diabetics are fine.

I had to go to the doctor back in November to get a perscription renewed. I saw the nurse practioner instead. She told me of an elderly couple here in Oktibbeha County who both had it. The husband was pretty much an invalid on dialysis. The wife just had slightly high blood pressure. She died and the husband, who you would think it would be a death sentence for, didn't even get sick enough to go to the doctor.

I thought I had caught it a week ago this past Tuesday. Within the snap of a finger I went from feeling fine to having zero energy. Not sleepy, just zero energy. Thank goodness I didn't have to piss, I don't even know if I had enough energy to get up and go to the bathroom. Not long afterwards I developed chills. By 7pm I had a fever of 100.1. Went to bed and woke up feeling great with no fever Wednesday. Went and got tested and it came back negative.

My temp has stayed between 97.5 and 98.7 since the morning of Day 2. I've been taking Theraflu a few times a day.

Happy to answer any more questions.

ETA: I'm working from home, not going into an office and have been since last March.

My wife is in the medical field and brought it home from there. She had same symptoms you had.

I didn’t have a noticeable fever, no headache, no loss of smell, no cough, or anything like that. Only thing I had was a rash that developed on both of my forearms that looked and itched like poison oak. When virus went away.. rash and itch went away. It was the damnedest thing. If I didn’t know that it was brought in the house, I would have never imagined I had had it. I would have thought that I was having an allergic reaction to something.

I think there's some randomness to covid on how it effects people and you're probably right about that missing link, but there's no doubt there's correlation with how young and healthy you are and how severe and prolonged your illness will be. Pretty sure the average age of a person who dies is 78.

The fact is only about 20% of all covid cases are considered severe. My 66yr old dad had it and he had a mild case. I've had several people in my family have it all different ages and some in shape and some not and almost all were mild. My 93yr old grandfather who's never drank a drop of alcohol in his life went from still working as a chiropractor and walking 18 holes of golf 4 days a week to now he's in rehab in 4 weeks. It's sad. He gave up golf even at least to this point. Quit his membership at the Jack Nicholas club he's been a member at since the 1980s. He was in perfect shape for a 93yr old other than not being able to see very well.

My 60yr old mother and 70yr old step father are having mild symptoms the past two days and they both got tested today. They did get a z pack from the doctor and some other antivirals. They've also been taking zinc, vitamin D, and other supplements to keep their immune system up. They should be okay. My stepdad does have a large mid section though, but other than that he's healthy and eats well and exercises. Had open heart surgery 14 months ago though.
