If common sense truly prevailed they would drop the whole concept because it's always looked half *** due to lack of most fans giving any damns or 17's. Blue tents exhibit B

It's funny how many people complain about wearing black in the heat, but not one word about the lower deck wearing maroon this Saturday.

I look forward to the clothing police shaming people in November for not wanting to buy black apparel for the FCS game that half the stadium is going to leave at halftime anyway.

I'll go ahead and tell you that I'll be the ******* wearing maroon that game. 1. Its a school color 2. Not dropping a dime for a shirt I'd wear once a year at most.

I'm a proponent of one special game a year. Otherwise, wear MSU gear (maroon/white/gray/black).

Question to the athletic department. Why do we even NEED a “blackout” game? Black isn’t one of our school colors.

I generally just wear what they tell me to. But for a blackout game, I just wear maroon. I figure it's dark enough the difference isn't that noticeable anyway.

Because having a “White Out,” “Black Out,” and “Maroon Out” compels people to go out and buy school-licensed apparel they may not otherwise buy. Prob in the contract with Adida$.

I’m kind of like you, but I think they should have one white-out game a year and everyone else be encouraged to wear maroon to every home game. Everyone knows us for maroon.

This is it. If the marketing department schedules these correctly, every other year or so you'll need to buy a new short sleeve maroon, white, and black shirt. You'll also need new long sleeve maroon, white, and black shirts. Or you may even splurge and get a black hoodie or half zip pullover to match the color you need for that game. You're also going to need at least one white and one maroon rainjacket too, just in case. Get a cap of each color too while you're at it.

how dare they try and encourage me to switch from my shirt I got in 1988 freshman year, duggar hall. sure it's a little thin, but it's mine and it has the school name on it.

They have also changed that to a maroon or white day. As hot as it is, I planned to wear white anyway, but some of our fans might not have dared to be so defiant. (LOL)

I'm in the upper deck, so I wasn't going to have to make that decision. I probably would just just worn maroon though. But I'm definitely wearing white now.

This announcement photo looks like it was written by me....except that after "wear maroon or white" I would have added "or any other comfortable clothes."

Thank God!! I was scared that I HAD to wear black to the game even though it was going to be hot.....smh

Why be a 17ing douchebag? Everyone knows you don’t HAVE to wear what they suggest. I’m sure a billy badass like you doesn’t listen to what anybody tells you what to do. Smh

I am uncertain why we don't try being unique and letting people wear whatever they want to a game.

Maybe one Saturday a year they could try to fix the concession problem.

I've still got the first MSU shirt I ever bought. Got it at the bookstore in fall 2001, one of those gray champion t-shirts with plain maroon MISSISSIPPI STATE printed across the front. It's as tattered as a cotton t-shirt can possibly get. Probably been worn somewhere between 500 - 1000 times over the last 18 years.

I'm wearing it if we ever have a "gray out". I had to miss the Arkansas game last year... guess that was my chance.

The black shirts I ordered for me and my girlfriend literally arrived today.

You misspelled "Maroon is all that matters"

Seriously though, it works for night games (and packed out basketball games) and it looks like a really great atmosphere on television. During the day, it loses its effect.
