Seems to me this flight to the Northeast was after news of Scott Drew turning us down, Plan B.
Too much pressure.

Billy Donovan was our first choice over Calipari.
You know what happened. The college basketball landscape has changed forever. It’s no longer the school or state that matters. It’s the coach and to a larger degree the chance to make money. Education be damned! Some schools like UConn and Purdue have figured out how to keep their players, though, and these schools now are reaping the benefits. Hurley might make UK relevant again, but he’s not leaving UConn to chase another $M or two.

Only two options - meet Hurley and agent, or just a Craft biz trip. I don't know that there's much reason for a coal magnate to go to NYC for business, and since the plane hasn't been up there all year, I'd wager this is indeed a Hurley gathering.

MJ said on the radio this morning that UK will push all their chips in the middle on Hurley. $11-$12M per year making him the highest paid coach in college sports, more than any football coach.
UConn has that big celebration/parade on Saturday so we're still going to have to wait.
Hurley has a chance at history next season with UConn, a 3peat. Not done since UCLA in the 70s winning 3 in a row.

According to Jones, if Drew refused to leave Waco, the 2nd option was to throw $11+ mil at Hurley. That is likely what we see happening now.
There are plenty of good coaches we can get, all better than Cal was.
A coach isn't worth $12+ million if total NIL is <$5 million. Get a really good coach and spend the rest on NIL.
Rival fanbases better get their hits in while they can. We'll see whos laughing in a few days.

Not a UK fan so kick me out if you all want. I'm entertained by this as a bored outside observer.
FYI, Hurley and his family lives in Glastonbury, CT, just outside of Hartford, CT. It's about a 2-hour drive to LGA.
I don't see them meeting there or any feasible reason to fly in there and then even meet halfway somewhere. Unless for some reason Hurley and/or agent were down in NYC for some reason and it was more convenient.
Or, they knew we're watching after yesterday's family tracking and decided to do it this way.
So I'm not horribly sure that's what this flight to NYC is all about. I mean, it makes sense given the outcome of the Drew situation. And given the Bulls are in Detroit today, it's not likely to be Donovan.
So - Hurley/agent or just a biz trip? Guess we'll find out.
One would think so. And I can't restrain myself from saying: Although Hurley has said "No" publicly and emphatically, Joe Craft is such an egomaniac that he'll spend the tens of thousands of dollars to fly himself and Mitch to Connecticut, just to be able to trumpet from the rooftops, "I went to Storrs myself and looked Dan Hurley in the eye and offered him $xx,xxx,xxx.xx and he turned it down."

Aside from his alleged connection to Marrow, I don't think he's got much. He's grasping at straws as much as anyone right now. Hell, we got turned down by Drew while MJ was still under the impression we hadn't offered him.
Just my 2 cents, but I can't imagine Craft would be doing anything other than focusing on the UK coach over the next few days. If he already used his Jet to fly around for UK the last 2 days.. I have to suspect this is what he's doing today. I find it hard to believe he said "Oh, Scott Drew said no.. well text me how it goes in the next few weeks, I'm gonna go to the northeast for business that could be done via a webex"
Rumors on another board that he has off court issues....no clue what that means but I will share if I can find out.
