Can UK still get players just becasue we are the top blue blood or not is the question we have to ask ourselves. Drew has one title and about 4 rd of 32 teams. Baylor is not a place that recruits really want to go to. Will UK get him better players and with better player shouldn't his one title and 4 rd of 32's become 1-2 titles, 1-2 FF's and 1 EE ? Can the combination of Drew and UK get him top recruits. I'm not sure UK still has that drawing power or not.

Will not be a problem.

In fact the new coach won’t be recruiting all 5* freshmen and half way through the season saying he still trying to find the best way to play. Hoping they mesh.

Get a system and recruit to it.

Drew puts em in the pros. Very very good recruiter at a tougher spot

I don't see Drew having any problems recruiting or anything else if he's the man. You don't get the Kentucky job with a little backing, you get everything you need.

Drew will have a problem because every school in Texas gets recruits from Texas. Kentucky puts out a quality recruit once every 3-5 years. Those guys going to Baylor have been sold on staying home and flying under the radar. Drew who is an under the radar guy himself will find things difficult. You can’t hide at Kentucky as cal said and found out

Kentucky program is the main recruiting tool. Drew would be solid recruiter as well

Drew has always recruited way WAY above what should be a school like Baylor’s weight class. Hell, he’s got the third ranked class this year.

He ain’t gonna have any problem recruiting at a blueblood with UK’s name brand and resources.

Dude has three five-star recruits signed to play next year at freaking Baylor. What makes you think he's going to have recruiting problems?
he has a good class this year, but he man's been recruiting for 21 years. I dont think hes been in the top ten more than 2 times.

Stoops still gets guys from OH despite KY not producing a lot of D1 players. Obviously UK is not to football what UK is to basketball. UK offsets the situation...and Waco? Who wants to play in Waco. He will do fine!

Yall talk out both sides of your faces. Half the posts on here explain away the fact that his record isn't any better than Cals by saying "it's Baylor, he'll get better players at UK". The other half tell us what a great recruiter he is, and how he gets great players at Baylor. It can't be both.

Except you won't find any posts from me dogging Drew. I'd take him in a second. If he can win at ****** Baylor, he can absolutely win with the resources of Kentucky.

I personally don't see Drew at UK. I think he will decline due to personal and family desires.

Silly thread.

Cal landed FOUR RSCI top 20 players in 9 years at Memphis. That's a conversion rate of .444 each year.

Drew has landed SIX RSCI top 20 guys in the last 13 years. That's a conversion rate of .461 each year.

In other words, you can't really judge these guys from a recruiting standpoint by what they were before Kentucky, especially since they coached at placed like Memphis and Baylor.

Drew just went up against Kentucky and Duke for VJ Edgecombe and nobody knew it was Baylor until the day before he announced.
Edgecombe was a purchase by Baylor, Drew and Baylor probably wouldn't have even been on his list if not for $$$. Drew didn't outrecruit Kentucky or Duke, Baylor just outspent the blue bloods to win that recruitment.

No different than when Flory BIdunga going from being a heavy lean to Duke to Auburn to Kansas all in one day.

Nothing against Drew but using Edgecombe to try to project how he would be able to recruit at Kentucky is not completely valid unless Kentucky is ready to begin to have to outbid schools to get the best recruits. Drew is a superior in game coach than Calipari but no doubt that recruiting will dip a bit under Drew. However less youthful, all-star squads might be helpful to Kentucky being more effective in the post season.

Recruiting need not dip that much if he can get quality staff members here.
